Should I be job hunting? lacking motivation and confidence to move for better pay/prospects

I really enjoy my job but it’s quite easy & pay isn’t great and I should be looking for the next step up but really struggling with motivation and the confidence plus my job is very flexible and undemanding which I’ve got very used to! I’m new to the sector so despite being 50, I’m fairly junior.

ive seen a couple of jobs that would be perfect, c.£5k salary increase & still fully remote which I want, but I’ve got a mental block about applying and explaining how my current (limited) experience might translate to the new role and what I can bring to the role and organisation. I slightly fell on my feet with my current job - went in head first without a hope in getting it but everything just clicked and I’ve been here nearly 3 years and feel I need to move on and up. My pension is pretty poor as I didn’t work for 10 years and DH only started his 4 years ago so increasing my salary and prospects now kids are not far off flying the nest seems right.

Update your C.V, look at it as though you were writing it for your friend.
Same for the jobs you want, “you have loved gaining the experiences you have on your current role and are looking forward to expanding your skills with this new company”.
You already have a job that ticks the boxes now, you have nothing to lose by applying for others. At the very least it’s job interview experience.
Think about how you would advise a friend and go for it! Have fun with it, see it as a challenge and … Good luck! 🍀🍀
