No eye rolls please as I know some people will think I'm being a dick but I'm genuinely curious...

My son is 10 and set to do his SEAG exams next year to get into grammar school - he's my only child so I honestly don't know what to expect but he did his 2 nd practice today and got 73% his class average was 67% I know it sounds good and I'm delighted- woukd this score be on track for a grammar school or would you expect to be starting at 80% +

Again please don't post nasty stuff to me- I'm curious to know

It depends how capable the class are - which we don't know. Confused

The eleven plus site will have a better idea of the answer to your questions.
You also need to explain what kind of school he’s at.

That's a great score considering he's got 9 months until the test.

I would assume top 20% of the class would be a good result for grammar type tests, but that would be if it was a mixed ability class

He came 6th out of 27 - mixed ability

From my experience as a year 6 teacher, only one or two kids out of thirty go to grammar (although, we only have one grammar school, so places are v limited).

Interesting feed back! We have two v prestigious grammar schools beside us and about 3 standard grammar schools.
