Learning to become a dog groomer

Any dog groomers here who could give me some guidance?

I'd love to make a career of it but have no idea here to start.

Based in SE of UK if that makes any difference.

TIA!

I have no idea, but would like to know myself. I'd think having a doggy 1st aid course would be of benefit. Maybe its covered in the course, but I don't know.

In our area, I rang 6 places before I could find someone to take on new dogs, so you will likely be in demand.

There are courses you can do, e.g. Sparsholt College in Hants runs them.
You can do apprenticeships too.
You will need Canine First Aid, but that appears to be a 1 day course available relatively easily, just search.

The level 2 grooming assistants course covers the basics but there is a level 3 as well but they recommend working in real life in between the two.

(DD currently doing work experience t a groomers Smile)

For some reason dog grooming numbers go in reverse to humans when it comes to blades. eg a Number 1 is v short for humans, but long for canines!
