Pushchair Help

10 week old DD naps in her pram in the bassinet for around 3 hours everyday. However I can see that it won’t be too long before she outgrows it.

We have 2 Micralite pushchairs, the fast fold and two fold. The twofold seat has a plastic formed bum seat so doesn’t lye completely flat, I wouldn’t feel comfortable putting a 3 or 4 month old in it for long naps. The fast fold has a hammock seat which would be softer of her back but still not ideal. Older DC never really napped for long or only ever contact napped so we didn’t have this issue!

Does anyone have any pushchair recommendations for one that lyes flat that I can pick up second hand for £100 max? Bonus point for parent facing as none of the one we have do that.

Bugaboo is excellent. The Bassinet is like a carrycot and baby can lie completely flat. Then it converts to a pushchair. I have a Chameleon one which I’m looking to rehome. If you’re anywhere near me it would be well within your budget.

Hi @PinkPlantCase sorry I know this thread is old by can't find any other threads or any videos on YouTube etc from anybody has the twofold and wondered if you could offer some insight. I am looking at buying one second hand. I have a small 20 month old and small 3 year old. It doesn't come with the second seat unit but toddler likes to walk/go on buggy board. I like the fact it's all terrain as will be getting rid of our heavy Jane crosswalk for this which is no longer serving its purpose. I am purchasing second hand, there's a few on marketplace. Have you found it a good pushchair?

Hi @121gigawatts we still use the two fold a lot. I have a large almost 3 year old and he enjoys standing on the back, he also sits on the back without using the seat and just holds on to the bars. There is plenty of space for his legs if he does sit down.

It is great if you want to be able to effortlessly switch from a normal single pushchair to a double.

It is not off roady at all in extended mode, it struggles with dropped kerbs and doesn’t corner particularly well as it becomes so long. Especially as my DS is about 15kg. When in single buggy mode it is less off roady than the fast fold (which is very off roady) but that’s mostly because it’s quite heavy.

When in single mode it is very easy to manoeuvre and push, you only notice its weight if you’re trying to bounce it down tracks in the woods. We don’t use it for that anymore.

For their price point I think the Micralite pushchairs work really well.

I also picked up a double mountain buggy seconds hand that’s a side by side. That’s much easier to push both children in for longer walks or anything that’s more off roady. The two fold is really handy for day to day going to the park/shops when older DC will probably want to walk a bit.

I don’t really know how much better it is than a normal pushchair with a buggy board attached, I know a lot of them let you lift up the buggy board board when not in use.

The basket underneath is pretty small.

Hope that’s helpful!
