Airport Parking - Manchester Airport

ChatterMonkey · 03/02/2024 18:23

Travelling for work in a week, and need to fly out of Manchester airport. Will be driving through from Newcastle, so trying to figure out best options for airport parking...

Flight is 9am, so will need to be there for arpund 6am. Toying with the idea of bypassing booking a hotel, just setting off early hours of the morning and sleeping on the plane, which will give me more budget for airport parking.

Looking at the official website, it appears that their main long stay car park is drop off and go, so you leave the keys and they park it? Has anyone used this amd recomend it? There does seem to be a park yourself one but looks like its a bit further away.

Alsp looked at ncp flightpath, which is a bit cheaper, but has mixed reviews.

What do people recomend??

We’ve used both the meet and greet parking and the long stay carpark where you park yourself. Both are fine and a short walk from the terminal

peanutparade · 03/02/2024 18:26

We use the meet and greet which is where you drop the keys and they park it. In return you collect your keys and you're told which parking bay it is in.
Much better than faffing around waiting for shuttle buses to the jet parks.

I got from Manchester regularly and drop and go is my preferred option. Super convenient. Feels weird the first time tho. I also rate the multi storey that you can pre book at each terminal.

I’ve previously used the non affiliated random car park that is cheaper nearby with a regular shuttle bus. You can book this via many different sites. It is dodgy as hell and I’d never use it again.

ChatterMonkey · 03/02/2024 18:53

The multi storey is super expensive so although looks good, is slightly out of budget.

Glad to hear that drop and go is good, as i tink thats going to be the best option for me.

Also good to hear that the non affiliated one is bad, so can rule that out!

Drop and go is fine, used it many times. Just a word of warning that there are some seriously dodgy car parks operating around manchester airport so please only book through the official website!

BeaRF75 · 03/02/2024 19:25

Definitely use the meet and greet - it's pretty efficient with an automated key drop system, and right next to the terminal. Don't bother with the long stay one, as then you have to faff about getting a bus, so it takes ages.

Carnerloyle · 03/02/2024 20:22

I use both Meet and Greet and Drop and Go regularly - if using the latter I would walk to T1 or T3, get shuttle to T2.

I only ever arrive two hours in advance.

Tbf Drop and Go is also efficient and automated!

I used the new Drop and Go recently - it is very poorly signed and at 6am it was quite stressful trying to find it. I kicked myself as I’ve always used Toad Parking just outside the airport in the past and really should have used them as per. Toad is just next door to Jet Parks and have a regular shuttle bus. I’ve never had a problem with them and have used them for years.

We have booked the multi-storey using a discount code - they send them out regularly if you sign up to the official Manchester airport parking website.

In the past, we used one called APH in Wythenshawe. We've used it for years and never had any issues whatsoever with safety. But, the shuttle bus from there to the airport has been taking longer in recent years (and we've waited for a good half hour after collecting our bags a few times on the return too), so we have splashed out this time so we can just walk across to the terminal (we are taking off at 5am so didn't want to make it any more stressful than it needs to be).

NigelHarmansNewWife · 03/02/2024 21:06

We're lucky enough to live on an airport bus route, but DP has parked at the Regus opposite the airport using Your Parking Space app and it worked well. Much cheaper than on airport parking.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 03/02/2024 21:22

Thanks for starting this thread OP, we're flying from Manchester in April and have been dithering about parking.

Stormbornform · 03/02/2024 21:36

Just take photos of your car after you get there and again when you get back. Ours was clearly parked on the rd somewhere when we were away and had the wing mirror bashed but we were so tired when we got back we didn't notice until we got home and they wouldn't do anything about but say ' you needed to have told us when you got the keys back'.

I'm going to tenerife on the 21st Feb. We've booked boundary farm styal road through skypark secure. They have indoor and outdoor parking. I paid £40 for the week. Free shuttle to all terminals. 6m shuttle to T2 where we're flying from. I've used them before last year when we flew to amsterdam for a few days. It can be abit wet but for the price I wasn't fussed. Shuttle every 20 mins I think. We're arriving at 4am this time, shuttles run 24/7.

Warmwoolytights · 05/02/2024 10:28

I used JetParks through Holiday Extras and wouldn’t recommend them. Luckily I had plenty of time but the one I used was quoted as 8-10 minutes from the airport and the shuttle stop actually quoted 20 because the site is so vast. You also have to cruise it looking for spaces with no idea where one might be - that also took me 20 minutes and it wasn’t a particularly busy time. To be fair to them the shuttle seemed regular.

ChatterMonkey · 05/02/2024 18:24

So off the back of the mixed reviews here, i hunted out a 10% discount code, and booked the multi storey, as I think thats the only one that hasnt had any bad reviews...!

A bit more expensive, but without staying overnight, I'll be able to justify the cost

It might work out cheaper to spend a night in a nearby hotel that allows parking and has a shuttle bus or take a taxi.

Soontobe60 · 05/02/2024 19:02

We always park on one of the Jet Parks and get the shuttle bus. You need to take a photo of the nearest zone sign plus the bus stop for when you get back!!!

HollywoodTease · 05/02/2024 19:07

We use APH, an independent off-site secure carpark with regular shuttle buses.

Depends when you book it but it's usually cheaper than any of the on site options.

Hi there. Can I please just ask, how does it work with booking a space at Regus with yourparkingspace? I honestly had a look and I was a bit reluctant about their legitimacy, but I am a bit like that. How does it work? Will I be getting some sort of booking number? Do I just go there, park and leave? Do I need to display something? I feel super on edge about it. I would really appreciate some feedback from your experience.
