Can eating eggs daily raise your blood cholesterol?

I’ve just had some routine blood tests and have discovered that my serum cholesterol level is raised at 6. This is a surprise as my diet is really healthy. The only thing I can think of is that I do eat 2 eggs in some form every day. I’ve googled it and can’t work out if that’s a bad thing or not. Can anyone tell me?

I think eggs are considered “good” cholesterol now?? Look for milk/butter/cheese and meat fat in your diet

A cholesterol level of 6 is fine. Read "The Great Cholesterol Con' by Dr Malcolm Kendrick. It's an eye opener.

Nope. Eat at least 2 soft boiled eggs every day.
Oranic, free range with a practically orange yolk 😋
Did this even when they were all talking about how bad they were.
I knew it was rubbish.

Yes, my friend had raised cholesterol and it’s because she had eggs everyday for breakfast. She stopped having them daily and cholesterol came back down. She’s super healthy otherwise (a personal trainer) so it was quite easy for her to figure out the culprit. Having said that I’m not sure it was doing her any harm - see above posts.

Eggs contain cholesterol but you digest it. Cholesterol in your blood stream is manufactured by your liver. Of course diet has an effect (the other person mentioned was probably having lots of toast & butter with their egg). I'm pretty sure it's been proven that the cholesterol in eggs does not rise your blood cholesterol (happy to be shown evidence otherwise though).

I think the link between eggs and blood cholesterol has been long disproven - I think they are actually recommended as part of a cholesterol lowering diet now because of the protein and healthy fats.

What is your diet like generally? My cholesterol was the worst it ever was during the years when I was a vegetarian. I think it was because of all the carbs and processed food I was eating. The lowest its ever been was when I was eating a paleo style diet - protein, healthy fats, lots of fruit and veg.

I know the current theory is eggs are fine but it has affected my cholesterol
over the years even before menopause so now I no longer bu y them.

It's an interesting topic but I'm not sure you should rely on the opinions of people online. We've all heard different things about whether eggs are good or bad for you but I'm sure most of us commenting don't have any qualifications in this area. You could try cutting them out for a while and see if it makes any difference.
DH has just been diagnosed with high cholesterol and the Dr was quite concerned. He said it puts him at a much higher risk of heart disease, strokes etc. He's been given lots of advice and the option of stations if he can't bring it down through lifestyle changes.
