If you eat very healthily, fresh unprocessed food, what's your weekly grocery budget?

We shop at Ocado, and always cook from scratch, plenty of fresh vegetables, Mediterranean diet with added pulses. We try to eat a wide range of plants (followers of Zoe). Fish and a small amount of fresh meat. One or two bottles of wine a week and the shop also includes things like laundry & dishwasher tablets etc, the usual weekly shop.

I know Ocado isn't the cheapest but I thought it was better value than, say, Waitrose which is where I'd love to shop. Tbh I've tried ASDA, Sainsbury's and Tesco and wasn't very pleased either the quality, selection and delivery process. So we've gone with Ocado and I do like their ease of ordering systems.

However, I'm find I'm spending £150-£200 per week and there's only 3 of us (2 adults 1, 4 year old). I feel I must be spending loads but wondered what anyone else with similar diet spends?

We average about £50 per person per week. That's everything and could probably cut it by a quarter if need be (it includes a few luxuries). But we also grow and preserve a lot during the summer so all our soft fruit for the year comes from the freezer plus various sauces, pickles etc.

2 adults, 2 toddlers and a 6 week old baby.

We cook from scratch and buy mostly at Lidl.

We spend about 500 to 600 pounds a month - this also includes nappies.

We're a meat and two veg household. We don't like pasta or pizza of any type.
I buy meat in bulk each month from a butcher, which I then divide and freeze. That usually costs in the region of £70.
I do an online shop with Morrisons, where again I buy for the month and I spend around £250. That includes frozen veg, laundry stuff, toiletries and dog food.
That's for a couple and a massive dog.

2 adults, £50 a week from M&S. Maybe stretching to £60 sometimes. We also follow Zoe guidelines, sometimes don’t quite get the 30 but usually at least 27 a week. Includes breakfast, lunch, dinners and snacks although we’ll usually be out for dinner around once a week. We do meal plan and follow it quite strictly to meet that budget, could easily spend a lot more!

I am intrigued how you manage to only spend £50 a week with healthy food from m&s. What are you eating, is it mainly pulses?

There’s only two of us. We eat similar though I only eat two meals a day. We cook from scratch every night. We’ve stopped drinking at home and probably eat Out once a fortnight. We spend £90-£100 a week with Waitrose.

And I agree that meal planning (and sticking To it!) is key. Very little waste and often no top up shops apart from a pint of milk.

Family of 5, 2 have school lunches. We cook from scratch every night and eat well.

We spend £160 - £200 a week I would say including household goods, but not including alcohol.
