Heart rate/fitbit

I don’t know if I’m worrying about nothing, and I probably am!
Usually my heart rate is pretty predictable, between 65 and 110 depending on activity. However, yesterday my heart rate was jumping between 54 and 209 all evening, it was changing really fast (within seconds) according to my fit bit; and was jumping to 209 when sitting still.
I was not anxious or exercising. Never happened before.
I did have a medication increase on Monday, but don’t think it would have affected heart rate (duloxetine)
Would you be concerned?
added image of yesterdays fit bit for context. I felt fine at the time.
it may be normal. But like I said, never had a reading like this before.

Did you check manually (on your radial pulse etc) that it was accurate? Heart rates that extreme would suggest Atrial Fibrillation or SVT. If you're concerned I would book a GP appointment.

If your heart rate was that high and you were at rest you absolutely would know about it, I had tachycardia in pregnancy and my highest heart rate at rest was 178 and I could feel my heart thudding, I was clammy and very aware it was happening. More likely this is a misread. I've taken mine off for the bath and put next to my ipad and had a stupidly high reading appear on it I think maybe it was picking up the vibration from the speaker.

gadgets like a fitbit are not very reliable at recording heart-rate. if your skin is too dry or too wet or the gadget isn't properly fitted, you can get dodgy readings for a day.

if you were feeling fine throughout, I'd assume it is an error in the gadget.

Yeah I suspect it must have been a misread! It said that my oxygen saturation was out of range also (99% overnight instead of the usual 96%) so it was probably just playing up!
my heart did feel like it was going fast At times, but I absolutely did not feel unwell in anyway.
I didn’t check my heart rate manually at the time, but did afterwards and it was fine then (100ish).

Palpitations and arrhythmia are listed as side effects of duloxetine so possibly could be related: https://bnf.nice.org.uk/drugs/duloxetine/#side-effects
Or just not accurate. If it happens again then do manually check your heart rate but also would be worth a call to your GP/whoever changed your dosage to discuss.
