That looks amazing.

When I am struggling with choices, I remind myself that things can change. You don’t have to get it exactly right first time. You can live with it a while then do something else.

especially when you are as good at it as you are.

And that’s why you are amazing. Your determination and focus is great. I can’t wait to see the pics later!

Love so much that on a previous threat everyone said 'don't even think about panelling until you've tidied' and you've done it and it looks great! Nice one OP

I think people have different ways of doing things I don't follow a standard path . My house is not 100% I still have things to do but it comes under the normal bracket now. I felt like I needed a semi break from the cleaning and wanted to sort my room. And yep paneling came uo better than I thought it would. Thanks 😊

I’m a believer in seizing the moment of enthusiasm. DH is a planner and I lose all interest by the time we’re there.

And having a lovely looking space encourages you to look after it.

Shithole101 · 02/02/2024 13:53

I have no idea how I'm going to sort where the plugs are 😭

That’s a lot of plugs… maybe a bigger space painted to hide the fact it isn’t panelling?

Your first one was really neat. Mine would have 53 extensions on which would spoil the effect😂

Someone else told me its not panelling but the word is stuck in my head now 🤣.

I think this wall is going to have a 101 bodge ups .

Ah no, that’s not what I meant. I call it panelling too. I meant leave the area between the sockets without panelling, but paint it so it isn’t noticeable.

Or do you poke the wires through the MDF and stick the socket back on the front? Can you tell I’m not an expert 😂

peppernuts · 02/02/2024 15:01

Panelling looks great. Did you find it hard? How long did it take?
How did you do the bottom? Is it sitting on top of the skirting board? I worried the panel would be thicker than the skirting

Wendysfriend · 02/02/2024 16:09

Holy God 😮😮😮 I've just caught up on your posts. I must have missed some. You're doing amazing. I can't believe how much you've done. I love your before and after pictures. You have some talent and so creative. Good on you.

Yes probably meant to remove sockets . I bodged it though 🤣

It's not overly hard. But I have messed up the measurements. It's simple for someone who knows what they are doing. I didn't even use a level.

The bottom is sitting on top of the skirting. It's not as thick as the skirting .

I have quite a bit to do still. It tells me to wait 2hrs for the under coat. I'm not waiting that long. I have opened the windows. I will give it 30 mins and hope 🙏
