My 18 year old DS (he turned 18 last week) is ramping up to do his Leaving Cert in June.

He was diagnosed with ADD a few years ago after years of issues in school but he is now thriving and doing well and In great form .

However he does find he zones out a lot so he has decided to try meds to help study and he's been prescribed Ritalin. I am about to fill prescription but I'm getting worried he ll find it addictive. If he's in such good form and doing well is he mad to start such a strong drug?

Any experience? Thanks!

No, it's fine. I take a slow release version of Ritalin and it's not addictive.

If he needs it why not take it?

Wouldn’t you give him glasses to wear whilst revising if he needed them?

besides which he’s an adult.

feaf of adhd meds drives me mad.
