Not sure where to post this but here goes.
I'm looking for some advice on the Men B vaccination.
My 19yo daughter (who has had the Men ACWY vaccine) was told at an ad hoc university vaccination clinic (which she was visiting because she thought the Men B vaccination was being offered) that only babies/children are offered the Men B vaccine, because it's not effective in adults.
I haven't been able to find anything on-line about this and our doctor's on-line Q&A service (Patchs) is not working.
From what I can see, the Men ACWY vaccine is routinely offered in a way that the Men B vaccine is not. I can also see that the Men B jab is more costly (when offered on a private basis) and that 2 doses are required. So I can see why it's not well-suited to being delivered at an ad hoc uni vaccination clinic. But is it correct to say that it's not effective in adults? Does anyone know the answer to this?
Thanks very much in advance!
