Does this sound silly?

Honest answers please.

I have a GP appointment tomorrow - I just know something is wrong with my body but I can’t describe it. Would I sound silly/like a hypochondriac saying this?

Background:
I have a range of health issues, endocrine, spinal, autoimmune so take a lot of medication, see different specialties so it’s my normal life.

BUT this feels different, never had this feeling, I’m beyond exhausted, have deep bone pain and aches.

I've been reffered to heamotology as my wbc is very high whilst my inflammation markers are normal (for me).
Anyone who does know labs, my wbc normally sits around 13/14, has done for years, creeps up along with crp when I have infections or a flare.
Now they’re fluctuating between 18-22 with a normal crp, this has been going on a few months.

I can’t even explain it I just have a feeling of something wrong - this was before I knew of my labs & heamotology ref.
I’m not worried, whatever will be will be, but should I mention it?

Im not looking for a diagnosis- just wondering would I sound silly saying to the dr, “I have a feeling somethings wrong with me?”

No I would not think you are being silly but it depends on how good or how useless your GP is and sadly many of them today are being reported by patients as being useless.

'I don't feel right, it's a strange feeling and I feel that something is wrong.'

She’s really good to be fair, but I don’t want to sound like a hypochondriac saying it.

I wonder has anyone else just had this feeling?

Can we stop with the useless trope

maybe they are extremely busy and could do with a bit more to go on than ‘I feel a bit off’ before they start using time and resources to look for a needle in a haystack

OP do mention it but be as specific as you can. Bone pain, fatigue are all symptoms worthy of mentioning. Do a little run through and check you have nothing else that’s new like skin rashes.
did the raised white count also report a blood film? Usually if the lab suspects something sinister from a raised count they would fall it up. Perhaps you are brewing something like a UTI?

My GP is amazing I could not fault her at all, the world needs a lot more of her :)

Sorry I should have added more context, she called me in to see her tomorrow, yes blood film been done.

I have bloods done regularly which is how this trend has been picked up, an urgent referral has been made to heamotology last week.

I’d say since Dec I’ve just had this morbid feeling something is really wrong, I do a lot of things to distract myself like mindfulness, seeing friends, spending time making memories with DC when I feel well enough.
I’m just a shadow of my former self, the deterioration in mere months is scary.

I don’t want to say it though in case I sound cuckoo Blush

One thing to remind your GP of is when you had covid. Some of what's going on could be long covid

End of 2022, not since that I’m aware of

An impending sense of doom can be a sign of a heart attack in women I think

Themysteriousone · 28/01/2024 20:52

@Kettlebellend that's the word! I’ve had a lot of near death experiences but never had this.

My heart is one of the things that seems okay though! I take beta-blockers, had ecg Friday & seeing dr tomorrow.
I just can’t put my finger on it
