Looking at ds's severe acne on his face, neck, shoulders, chest and arms and wishing I could make it go away.

Roaccutane saved my skin with acne was a life saver.

The always needing to do mum stuff. There's a non-stop cycle of things to do. It's a lot.

Rugby playing DS1 and 2 and DH

The washing is just another level (yes I do insist on help but it's the mental load to get it done)

It's not 'help' it's their fair share.

Missing them all. Glad for their exciting lives and independence but hoping one day we're back together as a family again. Or at least in the same country.

Frostynight · 27/01/2024 17:53

Wondering where I'm going to find the money for DS1's University top up next term.

True I think a week of not doing anything might be a good idea

3 year old still never slept through the night. Fighting constantly with his 6 year old brother. Hating it.

We had the same with my ds… ended up paying for him to se a dermatologist privately…nothing other than Roaccutane was going to deal with it, if you’re in a position to, it was money very well spent

Omfg I couldn't even start to bore you with my worst parts at the moment. This is easily the worst year of my life so far 🤞🏼

DrCoconut · 27/01/2024 18:14

Trying to parent (single handedly) like I don't have to work and work like I don't have to parent. Throw in kids off sick and a parent ill and it's just aargh.

Very sorry. This condition is a real effing bitch.

Shergill15 · 27/01/2024 18:21

Doing it alone. And the sadness that DD's father shows very little interest and has virtually no involvement in her life

NiceUnusualDifferent · 27/01/2024 18:31

Being told a few times a day, I'm the worst mum in the world and they wish I was dead in a ditch

Bloody hell. Sorry to hear that. 💐
Not helpful, however, where I was brought up about forty years ago, this would not happen from a child of any age. (Communist Czechoslovakia).

Piemam · 27/01/2024 18:40

One kid saying they want to kill themself

I've tried every thing I can think of to not have this happen. Nothing has helped so far.

University decisions, and not getting an offer from top (by far) choice. Lots of tears as she gives up her imagined dream future.
Older son also at a crossroads but seems optimistic- requires lots of confidence boosting though. He can crash at any moment.
Parenting teens has been psychologically the hardest thing I've ever experienced. I've been a widow for 14 years so really on my own, and this is tough.

Roaccutane saved my skin with acne was a life saver.

He is on week 9 of roaccutane and only minor improvement so far, but with added cracked/sore/swollen lips shiney from lip salve to complete the look ☹️.

Hopefully it will work for him too. 🙏

Same here. Luckily we have a few dermatology sessions through my works health insurance so not paying for consultantions yet. We pay for the private prescriptions, last one was another £170, but will be worth it if it works! 9 weeks into treatment and hoping it starts improving soon.

Yeah the prescription costs are a bit of a killer, but I didn’t regret it. DS was on it for about 9 months in all and it was totally transformative for him-he’d lost a lot of confidence. It did take a good couple of months to kick in so 🤞🏼yours will see and feel a difference very soon

It takes a while to work and can make things worse before it gets better, I took it in my mid twenties and initially it made my skin a lot worse but then almost overnight the acne disappeared. They gave me steroids to get over the initially breakouts as they were so painful.
