I feel kind of bad asking this with what's going on at Grindavik but I'm due to visit Iceland soon and want some tips. What are the most sees and, most importantly, where sells the best thick hot chocolate?

Go to the Laundromat Café on Austurstraeti, it's so cool, definitely head downstairs even if you don't have kids, to play with the Lego.
The photography museum is good for a quick warm up when it's cold.
Are you doing any tours outside of the city?

There’s a Reykjavik happy our app that shows you where’s got happy hour when- very useful!!

There was a fantastic sea food restaurant attached to the volcano museum- and as an airport worker I took great delight in throwing around some of the ash from the ash cloud that caused so much havoc at work 🤣

We did a food tour which was epic!!

The Lava Show is in Reykjavik in the harbour area. Easily walkable from the Center.

Sandholt bakery along the man road is really nice! They have the best jam ever, always regret not bringing some home!

Thank you, added to the list.

Do you have a car?

icelandtrip2024 · 28/01/2024 16:48

We visited the below (plus lots more on the way) and would recommend each of them.

Kirkjufellsfossar waterfall - this is as far north as went. It was impressive to see the more typical Iceland weather with expanses of white and the frozen waterfall.

The black beach over towards Vik

Gullfoss waterfall - the sheer amount of water is amazing

Strokkur geyser

Seljalandsfoss - walk behind the
waterfall
