How to ask for reasonable adjustments

I have a job interview next week, I have ASD with communication difficulties but practice very well as a nurse.
I would like to ask for some reasonable adjustments including set days but I'm not sure how to go about it. Do I ask at interview or do I wait? I know by looking at RCN website and also ACAS that it is not flexible working that I need to ask for, but reasonable adjustments due to my autism and mental health difficulties/anxiety.
Has anyone got any suggestions for me?
I have looked on employer website and I can't see a policy or anything.

Does the job you’re applying for suit set days? Does anyone else work set days?

I think you'd need to demonstrate why they would be reasonable adjustments for you - off the bat, asking for set days seems a bit odd, but if you could explain that due to x, y and z this helps you perform better / manage your mental health / anxiety etc. They don't have to accept them and can offer alternative reasonable adjustments but if you can link it into your health then that's always helpful.

Would the job lend itself to set shifts? If there's no impact to the role / business then that's one less barrier to getting them accepted 😊

@lovinglaughingliving my advice is do the interview, when you get the job then talk to them about reasonable adjustments.

You are correct it is a reasonable adjustment you are asking for and not flexible working. People often think they are the same because it involves when you work, they are not.

@DustyLee123 @Midnlghtrain I don't think there would be an issue, it's a nursing role within a neonatal unit, it will be new for me as most of my experience is in palliative care. The job advert says long days 7.30-2000 and nights, which means only need to do 3 a week. I am so much better if I have a routine from a mental health/autistic burnout point of view. I also have realised that I need to take care of myself more, so having set days allows me to recharge/recuperate as wearing my "nursing hat" for 5 days sometimes 7 days, is very challenging indeed.

Thank you so much, I won't talk about it in interview then (do you think it's okay to talk about my autism?) I will wait to see if I get. Job offer x

You have to be you in an interview, so if you would naturally say due to my autism …. then do that.

Be prepared for them to ask about your Autism and your reasonable adjustments may then come up naturally.
