What is this man up to every morning…

I walk my dog every morning at 6.30am. There’s a bloke in my street who must work nights (always dressed in reflective clothing) that arrives home at the same time.

Rather than pull up and park outside his own house he always pulls into a space about 5 doors up and then gets out and rummages in his boot, removing large liquid canisters and putting them back in. He’ll then sit in his car outside this other house on his phone for about 15/20 minutes. Eventually he’ll drive back up the road, turn around at the street entrance so his car is facing the direction as though he’s driven straight into his house then he’ll park up outside his house and go in.

One morning on my way back with the dog I saw him coming up from his next door neighbours garden. Their house was dark and they are older so wouldn’t have been up. I don’t know why but I’ve become really suspicious of what he’s doing in the morning. After a night shift you’d think he’d been glad to get home and into bed rather than fuss arse around and sit in his car for anything up to 30 minutes.

Its all quite odd and I’m getting tempted to ask him why he parks up away from his house 🫣 He is married, it seems like he doesn’t want his wife to know he’s home then. Weird.

There was once an mner who had such an intriguing situation.. Man parked his van up every night at her farm gate for 20 mins.. One night she walked along to see for herself. I bet the poor woman wished she hadn't...
He was having a bottle of beer and a wank.... Don't be too nosey op.
Imo.

Well I reckon he's got a burner phone hidden under those cannisters of liquid (so his disabled wife won't find it) and he's phoning sex chat lines for a bit of, err, relaxation, before he goes home.

Either that or he's dealing drugs.

I am thinking along those lines, tbh. He's probably getting some alone time before he goes in to his family...

Your post half made me laugh. During the early stages of lockdown, we had an elderly chap parking in our road for about two hours from 6.30am. He'd get out, empty his boot onto the road and put it back in. He'd then just sit there - no phone or newspaper. Nothing special around here, it's a old cul-de-sac with little passing traffic or footfall for him to see.

I think he's not wanting to wake up the household. Although he won't have realised that his clanking in the boot outside another house 5 doors down will just be waking up someone else's household instead.

I’m updating this as we’ve sussed what this guy is up to. DH took over the early morning dog walks and said to me the other day about the guy at the top of the street and his odd behaviour in the mornings.

He’s supplying his immediate neighbours with whatever is in the small drums - we can only think it’s fuel / red diesel maybe as he seems to work in construction. I think he spots us walking up the road and sits waiting in his car until we’ve passed and the coast is clear.
DH saw him carrying the drum / down the neighbours driveway too and immediately clocked what he was doing and put two and two together.
Naughty if that is the case!
