Phone ringer (landline)

I have an older relative who doesn't use a mobile and we are really struggling to get hold of her as she often doesn't hear the landline. We aren't local so do really need to be able to call her as we can't just pop in. Landline is in kitchen, she is often in living room with TV on loud and just doesn't hear it. I wondered whether there are any gadgets that could be attached to the phone and make it ring in another room? Or to make it louder? Any ideas welcome.

Vibration alerts work wherever she is so phone in a different room doesn't matter

My parents have a large house and have (loud!) repeater bells wired in various places so they know when the phone rings - would that help? Or flashing lights are a good idea.

Thank you everyone - I knew there must be something out there but didn't know where to start. I will investigate these ideas :)

How about a baby monitor turned on by the phone or see if the landline can have calls diverted to a cheap mobile phone?

A mobile is a good idea but she has a mobile which she only ever turns on once in a blue moon to phone a taxi when she's out. I don't think she would keep it charged/with her... Also when I looked into dumb phones for my youngster they all seemed to want a £10 per month minimum top up for payg which neither of them would ever use.
I don't think she really sees it as a problem because she doesn't know how many calls she's missed (doesn't check 1571...). So I don't think she would be prepared to put in too much effort to adjust to something different.
It's more me getting frustrated after trying a million times to call to arrange when we're going to visit...

It's a dilemma isn't it. I've got a similar problem with my 86 year old deaf uncle who has the tv on very loud, or unplugs the landline & switches off his mobile as soon as he uses it to 'save the battery'. Having an extension phone is relatively easy to install (I installed one myself for my elderly parents)& you could get a cheapo landline phone off market place or eBay?

I will add extension phones to the list to investigate thank you :). More than happy to buy a phone if she is willing to use it. Sounds like a similar issue with your uncle - turning the landline off to save the battery made me smile :)
