Why is my dd11 hiding monkey nuts in her bedroom

She's 11 and apart from slight moodiness we have no real issues.
I was looking for something in her room today and found a big packet half gone stuffed somewhere.

Any ideas?

This is so weird - not the nuts, that you are sufficiently concerned about a bag of nuts to start a thread.

Why would you not just ask her?

And why can’t an 11yo girl know you have been in her room? 🤯

Your reaction is very strange.

Did someone give them to her when she was trick or treating? Maybe she didn’t like them, and instead of walking to the bin —like my ds— she stuffed them somewhere?

Or, they’re for her Hamster

Do you allow snacking in bedrooms? I’d think she was just hiding the evidence of disobeying that kind of rule tbh.

I understand why you started the thread OP. Something odd happened and you just wondered if it had another meaning. Possibly some weird TikTok phase or something you didn't know about. People are having a go at you wondering why you even bothered starting a thread. Why not? That's what Mumsnet is for. It's nice that you were concerned enough to make a thread. It seems like there may be a simple explanation though, so hopefully nothing to worry about.

This.

Do you have any rules on eating between meals, type of snack she's allowed or eating in her bedroom?

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 22/01/2024 21:30

Because bananas are too messy.

Mitherations · 22/01/2024 21:34

Nuts.

Unless the hamster is nut-free I'd presume that they were his, and as he can't open the bag himself she's helping him out.
