What are the chances I will live to see my summer holiday in June if I eat this chicken my moronic husband cooked with this tray still attached

If the plastic hadnt melted onto/into the chicken, the chicken was cooked thoroughly and tasted as normal I would eat it without question.

This

Are you sure it isn't strategic incompetence so that you never ask him to cook dinner again.

LakeTiticaca · 21/01/2024 17:49

I'd say around zero. I've done this inadvertently in the past and myself and my family have all survived quite well

olderbutwiser · 21/01/2024 17:50

Well I wouldn't eat the plastic, but if the chicken (which I can't see) is more or less cooked I'd have no problems.

(Another #TeamSpruce member motto: "if it's not blue and fluffy then eat it. Except cheese, which is all the better for being blue and fluffy").

Probably I've never done this with the cardboard under a pizza

I'd eat it if it looked and smelt ok. I think people have become a bit ridiculous about danger from food.

dottiedodah · 21/01/2024 18:04

I would bin TBH. Plastic will have evaporated for sure ,very dangerous .

Iatethelastrolo · 21/01/2024 18:07

What a numpty. You'll probably be fine but I would probably chuck the chicken in the bin.

IHS · 21/01/2024 18:10

Hmm, it's like that movie, The Fly. Chicken fused with plastic tray. Could be DNA altering.

No absorbent pad

I would eat it.

Ffs he's such a div
We don't have any other meat for tonight and can't afford takeaway

Just eat the vegetables and potatoes

MaybeTooLate · 21/01/2024 18:49

I once bought a chicken with a transparent plastic label stuck to its breast which I forgot to remove and only noticed when it was in my mouth, and I felt so embarrassed to have fucked up so badly that I just swallowed it.

Deathbyathousandcats · 21/01/2024 18:51

I’d eat it

blackpanth · 21/01/2024 18:54

I'd eat it

arlequin · 21/01/2024 18:59

I'd eat it def

TempleOfBloom · 21/01/2024 19:01

I’d eat it but maybe not the bits in contact with the plastic, and not the skin. But I don’t eat chicken skin anyway.

Bubbles254 · 21/01/2024 19:07

I think you will live to see the summer. It will probably just reduce your overall lifespan by 20 minutes or so, similar to what a rasher of bacon or similar would.

7/10

You might get dengue fever and arthritis but I think you'll get your summer holiday.
