Teenage boys! (Light hearted)

I have 2 teenage boys, in the main good and a credit but prone to back chat and attitude as well as a selfish outlook, so typical teenagers.
I found myself being cross with both of them this morning so explained I'm due on my period and a bit pmt ish and I need them to do as I ask.
One son was surprised I still have periods (I'm 42!) and the other said it was a me problem.
I can't decide whether to laugh (and to speak more about female health) or to be cross that there was no empathy. What I've done is to make myself a coffee and to chill in my room.

Parenting fail, there, OP!

Mine learned (through self preservation mostly) that making me a cuppa or just chucking chocolate in my general direction and scarpering was the wise choice when I am on my period.

I have been very up front about it, though.

Get these printed off and put them on the wall 😂

Two DSs here too, 18 and 20. I'm late 40s and in the hot zone of perimenopause. The way yours reacted is totally normal for something they have no concept of, but hopefully they'll take it in, consider it and use it to learn more about you and women in general. DS2 is still at home gives me hugs willingly again after a couple of years of brick hugs and if I say I have PMT or cramps, brings tea and chocolate. DS1 is at uni and his newish GF has said how sweet he is when she has a painful period. They'll get it, it just takes a bit of time.

Oh my goodness! Yes you need to educate them - a lot more!!

I think my son at 20 knows more about how moon cycle affects women than most married men.

Ita shocking what some men don’t realise, such as I read the other day that many men think bleed is like weeing so we choose when to!! And we’re lazy if we leak / bleed onto pads 🙄

I had to laugh a bit at their blatant teenageness.
Teens are so funny if not a bit frustrating.
Aside from their thought processes or lack of, I've never known a more touchy feely bunch, they love grabbing each other, ruffling hair, jumping on eachother, pulling at clothes. They completely baffle me. I used to work with them. Some are quite dopey and look like they haven't properly woken up for the day. They also like to put their heads on tables. Like the world is too much sometimes, God love them.

Thanks all, I've decided to be more open with them about female issues as I want them to be aware and for when they grow up to have partners!
