Bed spread or coverless duvet for king size bed which fits in an 8kg washing machine

I have had another thread today on my duvet washing woes.

however, I just thought there may be another way to approach this. And I need a thick topper on top so the duvet is less at risk from cat. Does anyone have a bed spread which is not thin (ie not say a velvet throw) which would cover a king size mattress and can be comfortably washed in an 8kg washing machine. It doesn’t need to hang down over the sides. (I used to have a lovely eiderdown which was market king but was bigger to go down the sides so wouldn’t fit in a a domestic machine) Grateful for any links.

or maybe a low tog coverless duvet. A friend has double ones she washes in the machine so I’ll find out what dimensions that is to see if would cover king bed.

Thank you!

I've got this one from JYSK, it's thick enough to protect from accidents (one of our cats was sick on it and it didn't go through to quilt underneath) but fits in washing machine. It's available in blue as well as grey and nice quality despite being cheap

I have two thin, quilted bedspreads from IKEA and they both fit in the washing machine. I can't check the size as DH is asleep but they cover my 180 cm bed, hanging down the sides. Washing machine is 8kg.

I have a wool blanket/throw i use for added warmth. It hardly ever needs to be washed wool seems to repel dirt, but if necessary, I do on a short wool wash in the machine.

Had mine for years, but I think ikea usually have wool throws.

We just use 2 lower tog duvets, normal ones with covers - I don't see the benefit of cover less ones. The main bed they're both full sized ones as DH is a roller, but on the double I use I have a single on top serving the same function as an oldfashioned eiderdown.
It has the advantage I can snuggle it up round my neck or easily chuck it aside if I get too warm,
