A 'friend' sent me a link this morning to news that the current status of the Domesday Clock will be unveiled on 23rd Jan. at the same time, I hear David Cameron talking about red flashing lights on the geopolitical dashboard (m.youtube.com/watch?v=ajr_-axjy5w)

Er...I'm having a moment

What the hell is a domesday clock?
It's like a cuckoo clock only with Cameron emerging on the hour to put the shits up you

We should be a minute to.midnight by now. However I don't think it's something we should stress about. Realistically what can we do?
I vote. That's about it. I turn the news off now. It's the same stuff. I get irritated.
My focus is what is directly affecting my family now. What's going on locally, with their schools, doctors, hospitals, our area etc. That's it. We sometimes find out things through church. We donate, we pray. I genuinely wish things would improve but other than the above I can't do anything else than love my family and friends (and try my best for my own sanity).

Sometimes I think MPs/Government want us shit scared all the time.

But David Cameron is a red herring
No that's just his face
There's an election coming so of course the Tories want to make us all scared into voting for the status quo who can lend us stability in a crisis. Nothing like a war this get the voters out! He's a bastard.
This. There's a reason they've put his batteries back in and sent him all shiny-faced, ham-fisted and empty-headed lumbering towards the world's most acute crises - if you want to exacerbate a sensitive situation for your own political reasons just wave Cameron at it.

Yes, and when it all becomes a massive shambles, he can fuck off back to his shed, which he's no doubt now fitted out with iodine pills, cans of pilchards and a ticket to Mars.

None of it is good. We can still do things about it though. I find when I am feeling stressed about something, it helps me to manage my stress to do something about it. Best action is collective action of course so have a look at organisations supporting action and see what you can do to support them, be it following them on social media and liking their posts to boost their reach, signing petitions, financial support, or joining/volunteering. Speak to prospective parliamentary candidates at the forthcoming election about your concerns, let them know it's important to you. Have a think what you can do as an individual too, whether it's doing meat free Mondays, supporting ethical businesses or switching to green energy etc etc, there's always something we can do to make positive changes.
