What’s the furthest you’d travel for a long weekend?

Dh has a conference in the Bahamas,we are in uK. we’ve extended for a week, but one of his colleagues arrives on Thursday night and leaves Sunday night. That just seems too much to me.

For work, then whatever the working requirement is.

Maybe not every colleague can take leave in the adjacent weeks, even though your DH has managed to

If it's for work am assuming (maybe wrongly) they will be flown business so not too awful in term of getting sleep. I once went to Australia for 4 days for a wedding from the UK it was fine

Nope not business class, unless he's upgraded himself which is unlikely.

I know air crew do this all the time. And people fly to the States for one day meetings...but personally I wouldn't do it unless I had to for work. This is optional not compulsory.

A close European city like Amsterdam or Barcelona, wouldn't bother with a 4+ hour fight for a weekend.

Obviously if it's a work requirement that's different.

DillDanding · 19/01/2024 09:21

We have done New York and Boston for long weekends, so an 8 hour flight. It was fine.

Midnlghtrain · 19/01/2024 09:22

Not business class?! That's horrific from the company if it's for work, especially for that length of flight.

Bit long for four days if there's 9hrs+ spent flying. A week is touch and go for me!

I went to Cape Town for three nights in a hotel plus the flights were overnight.
