Can you have a heart attack and normal Sats?

Just that really.

I was wondering if you could still be having a heart attack if your stats are normal.

4.5 hours ago I got chest pain in between my breasts suddenly. It's a sharp, sore pain. A bit like a bruising pain. Has stayed the same since

I was quick to check my pulse and oxygen saturation 'just in case'. They are both normal

Can you still have a heart attack even so? I am otherwise FINE but it is sore (worse when I hunch shoulders forward)

I haven't called 111 because I am a carer and if I get emergency childcare, it means social services. So I had better have good reason!

According to Google it's likely that your sats will fall if you're having a heart attack.
The pain might be your heart, it could be a muscle spasm, oesophageal spasms- I'd call 111 if I were you. And have an aspirin if you have any?

Heart attack pain isn’t usually sharp, it’s most often a heavy dull ache type of pain. I’ve been told it feels like an elephant is sitting on your chest crushing it.

I get sharp chest pains often and it’s always either indigestion or anxiety.

Why do you pox meters at home? Heart attack pain doesn't usually present like that.

Indigestion?

Yes you can have normal sats and be having a heart attack.

Yes you can have normal sats and be having a heart attack. It is also false that cardiac pain isn't a sharp pain. It can be sharp, it can come and go, it can be persistent, it can also be a dull ache and a pain that radiates to your arm, jaw, neck and your back. Some people have an episode of sharp pain and don't experience it again, only to find that they have severe vessel disease. Some people have a constant dull ache and have minimal disease or none whatsoever. Get seen is my advice.

I've always been told by my cardiologist that a sharp pain is more likely muscular. Do you have a history of heart problems? Things to look out for are tightness in chest, pins and needles, arm pain, back pain, jaw pain, light headedness...

Basically a sharp pain on its own is unlikely to be a heart attack, but if it continues or you start to feel very unwell with it I would obviously seek help pronto.

Is there no one who could take the children? Not even the parents of one of their friends? I hate to say it, I really do, but what if this was a heart attack? What if you were unconscious? You becoming incapacitated while DC are in your sole care is far worse than any alternative.

Yes you can have normal Sats and be having a heart attack (I did!) I also had virtually no chest pain, it can present differently in everyone. My main symptom was throwing up - I couldn't stop and it was pure bile. I was also boiling and light headed. Thankfully 111 asked the right question's and sent me an ambulance! I have previously suffered with bouts of costochondritis which felt more like a heart attack than the real thing! It's best to get some advice from 111, you likely would be referred for an ECG - but it might be at an out of hours rather than a&e with any luck.
