Does anyone have one and are they worth having? if so can you please recommend one as I am fed up with our mirror fogging up, preferably one with a motion sensor
Thanks

We have one. It is good.... Not a motion sensor though. I would have thought that would make it come on every time you go into the bathroom - which would be a waste of electricity surely?

Ours comes on when the bathroom light is switched on. Really good and works well

Thanks for the replies, what makes are yours please?

I don't put the light on when it is a summer morning, do you just put it on anyway?
@DilemmaDelilah how is yours activated?

Yes heated is fab for making sure you can see yourself after a shower. Ours also has a clock on it which I like a lot. Clock is always on, lights switched on and off by waving your hand underneath (it’s a cabinet so sits out from wall). Not sure if heat and light go in and off together as I pretty much always put the light in when in there.

@Travelcrazy mine is a large cabinet on the wall over the basin - I'm sorry I have no idea what make it is! I got it from Amazon. It has a small symbol on the mirror at the bottom which, when touched, switches on light strips on either side and the heating bit for the mirror. The other (in) side of the mirrored door is also mirrored, and it has an electric socket for electric razors or toothbrushes inside as well.

Yes, they are great, I fitted it to the wall and tiled around it so it sits more flush than if it was mounted on top of the tiles.

I wired it up with Philips Hue lights and a smart switch so it can programmed to come on via motion sensor, schedule, humidity or voice activated via Siri or Alexa etc.

The power consumption is around 30 watts
The make was HIB

I use liquid soap rubbed in to the glass. It stops it misting up.

just a drop rubbed over with my fingers, then polished in with a soft cloth. There’s no sign of it, it just doesn’t mist up- until someone cleans the mirror and doesn’t resoap it.

We just bought a v similar one from Pebble Grey and it works really well. We didn't go for the motion sensor one though, ours you just wave your hand near the base and it goes on/off. The demisting works really well and is great for DH shaving (ours is a wet room so stays steamy). Some of them had Bluetooth speakers which the DC thought would be great but we decided against after reading some reviews of them making a 'bing' connecting sound every time you went it or out the bathroom and this got annoying.

I have one but I'd forgotten all about it until a couple of weeks ago when I read a thread on here! I've been putting it on since then when I've had a shower and I can confirm it does work! It's nothing fancy - just a light around the frame.

Travelcrazy · 16/01/2024 14:58

Thanks for the replies definitely going for one now!

I agree not to bother with the bluetooth option, too much hassle.

I use an Apple HomePod mini instead, and ask it to play, plenty of volume for a disco in the bathroom...
