My daughter turns 10 in 2 weeks for years ive been able to buy clothes cheaper in the shops or sales for a few years ahead and then put them away untill needed and she's had no issues wearing them .
This has all changed and im struggling to accept it to be honest. We went shopping today for some clothes anything i picked up she didn't like. It wasn't the correct colour or the material would itch her i need to accept the fact I cant buy clothes and put them away any more.
Is your daughter the same or is mine just super fussy

My DD is only 1 so hopefully I have a good few years or her wearing what she's told! But my neice is 10 and is suddenly exactly as you describe. She has about 3 outfits that she likes and she wears these on rotation. Constantly saying she "needs new clothes" but whenever my poor SIL takes her shopping she doesn't like anything! I think it's fairly typical of that age.

All sounds perfectly normal to me OP. My DD and I have massive differences in what we like clothes wise - I think she started choosing her own at the beginning of junior school.
Could you perhaps get a Primark/Next or whatever gift card now and again when you’ve got a spare £10 or something? Your DD could then use the gift cards in the sales or if she needs something? Enjoy her wanting to build and show her personality through what she wants to wear.

My 7 year old is starting to become like this. I suppose it’s only natural that they develop autonomy over their clothes. She doesn’t have particularly expensive tastes.

I found it really difficult when I could no longer choose DD's clothes. At 12, she has very definite ideas. We put aside a day every few months to go clothes shopping, which is really a day of bargaining and negotiation ('Ok. You can have the white top, but not the green one because it shows your tummy button. In exchange for giving up the green top, we can spend half an hour looking at skincare in SpaceNK. However, you will not be buying the £50 moisturiser, but we can have a conversation about lip gloss' etc).

My ten year old has been like this since about 8. I wouldn’t choose for her now, she knows what she likes. Anyway - at this age I feel like I don’t know how much or quickly they will grow, so I’m not sure there should be the same need to put things away in advance.

Mine was about 12/13. At 10 she was still all about leggings, t-shirts and no socks! She went to a primary school with no uniform so clothes never featured on her agenda really.
