The museum of science and industry
manchester museum
old Trafford or Ethiad stadium tour if they’re into football
the Lowry might have something on at half term and the blue Peter garden and BBC centre is just across the quays (the bbc used to do tours but I’m not sure if they still do)
imperial war museum maybe (might be of interest if they’d studied world wars at school)
shopping at the Arndale or Trafford centre
theres an indoor ski / sledging place by the Trafford centre and a mini dinosaur golf place too

Oh gosh I’ve not heard of the aquatic centre, can you tour it?

Is Cloud 23 the best tweeny/teen place for afternoon tea? They would love that!

I don't think so, it's just swimming pool (originally built from the commonwealth games)
I've heard mixed reviews of Cloud23 for afternoon tea. The kids might like Richmond Tea Rooms.

John Rylands library is gorgeous, and Afflecks Palace is a must if they're into alternative culture (as is the whole of the Northern Quarter). Look for gigs at smaller venues like Rebellion and the Deaf Institute and I think Chinese New Year falls in half-term this year as it's early. Another vote for MOSI. There's a massive Vue in the Printworks and a big Odeon cinema at Great Northern.
Shopping is brilliant, but I'd stick to the city centre rather than the Trafford Centre personally - there's a lot of closed shops there now and the food options in the TC aren't very varied either. Every food you can think of too, it's a brilliant city 😊

Salford Quays - including a food hall, theatre, museum, BBC, water activity, Old Trafford.
