Hi everyone!

Family of four wanting to move to greater Manchester for a couple of years. We found a house for rent in Blackley, near Higher Blackley. Not too long of a walk from blackley forest.

Does anyone know anything about the area?

Is it any good for a family?

Thank you

@DisplayPurposesOnly. She died a few years ago. Grew up & lived in the area. And it was never nice.

It makes me want to look for another area to live but my husband is adamant he wants to move there.

We have a budget of £1150 a month for a two or three bed house.
My husband will work on central - M15.

Hi OP, please listen to other PP and find somewhere else! Why is your DH adamant on living there?. Where abouts in M15 is he working?, potentially he will have to travel across town and in rush hour traffic that journey will basically be shit!

Like any area it has good and bad parts, We lived on Hill Lane down towards the church for years and loved it. Absolutely amazing neighbours, never had any issues, everyone was friendly and looked out for one another. We have friends that followed us there and are still there now. We had to move to look after my MIL after she had a stroke.
Hill lane has such a mix of house styles, the Victorian/Edwardian ones are great value for money.
Heaton park area is nice but very busy with concerts in the park. The noise is a lot to deal with.
Hapurhey I would avoid.
