Shoes sloping inwards - help!!

Dd was bought decent loafers in the right size for starting secondary. One term in and her heels are leaning in towards each other as she walks, and the heels are now wearing down significantly on one side each (inside).

Is there anything I can buy to help? Som sort of insole or heel grip or something?

At £60 a pair, I was expecting to get a school year out of her shoes.

I should add, we've never seen this with any previous shoes, but they've all had laces so I assume less opportunity for slippage to the sides.

Can you get them re-heeled at a cobbler?

Possibly- I need something to stop her feet sliding inwards.

You can get insoles from
boots or amazon that’ll align her heels.

Does she have over pronation of feet? If so the GP can refer for bespoke insoles.

Slip on shoes with softer uppers are the worst for anyone with loose ligaments / hypermobility / over-pronation of the feet. In the future, a supportive shoe with deep heel cup, and buckle / lace / strap closure. If the shoes are quite soft uppers, loose and sloppy, then don't waste your money on an orthotic insole as it won't really work and you'll waste your money. Just aim for a better style / structure next time.

It sounds like she over pronates, and the shoes do not give her enough support. Has she previously mostly worn lace ups? Or at least shoes with straps?

Get the shoes resoled (Timpsons can probably do it while you wait), and get some supportive insoles [[

Great minds eh?!🤣

My best friend is a podiatrist. She hates slip on shoes!

Thanks everyone. I'll sort some re heeling, to at least try and get her to the end of the school year.

Yep first time in a slip on shoe, her primary they all wore trainers!

The loafer comes up high on top of her foot so not sort of "dolly" shoe style, but absoloutley will be going for laces or straps across in future. Lesson learnt.
