What does/did your 2.5year oldest daily routine look like

My toddler is currently pushing a lot of boundaries, as they do, however we are struggling a lot when getting her to sleep, last night took 3 hours to get her down! She has been having a nap during the day and so I wondered if it was time to drop it, today we pushed through and she missed it so it only took 10 minutes to get her down tonight, this was at around 6.45pm (her bedtime would usually be 7pm).
Just wondering what others' routines with their toddlers look like to see if there is anything we can try to alter to make sure she's getting enough sleep, etc.

At 2.5 mine had dropped the nap already. 7pm bedtime. Woke up between 6.30/7. It's pretty similar now still at 3.5.

I'd definitely drop the nap. You might find they need a catch up nap every once in a while. Mine has a nap every 2-3 weeks maybe or after a few very busy days.

2yrs 4months. Bed between 7-8, but we can easily push bedtime to 9.30/10pm ish if we are out with no issues. We probably do this once a weekend. In general he wakes anytime between 6-8 (but usually around 7).

Bedtime, from stories to fully asleep takes between 10-30mins. No nap for last few months.

Both of mine dropped the aftetnoon nap about 2ish. But would need a bit of a rest on the afternoon, bit of CBeebies or a quiet activity like drawing.

Our youngest (now 3) dropped her naps at 18 months... torture.

Things always change throughout the day, breakfast after she woke which could be a two hour window 7-9am, lunch and tea varied depending on what we were up to (days out etc) so never that rigid!

One thing we have always kept to (and has worked) is bedtime. The time isn't set, latest going upstairs is 7:45pm - bath, picking pyjamas, hair dried and styled, a story (or 5), cuddles, tries for a wee, more cuddles and then bed. Also, once little one was upstairs, there was no coming back downstairs.

Longest it takes is an hour on a bad day, but it's every day, no matter what, the second she goes upstairs, she knows it's bedtime - no confusion and much less stressful. I did find that going upstairs too early caused more stress and took longer. I usually try and time it to at least 1hr 30mins after tea is over or she's bouncing off the walls. So if tea is 5pm, she finishes at 5:30pm after pudding etc, then 7pm is a good time to go up.

Everyone is different, but a set routine (not necessarily time specific) works well for us.

Good luck OP x
