Nope - sounds totally normal to me.

Violetparis · 09/01/2024 18:17

No

wheretoyougonow · 09/01/2024 18:18

I judge the fact you allowed mayo on a hotdog- ketchup only😂

IhaveanewTVnow · 09/01/2024 18:18

No

crostini · 09/01/2024 18:18

No course I wouldn't judge. I'd personally swap out the American cheese for cheddar or similar but that all

KickMyAssIntoGear · 09/01/2024 18:19

No. I wouldn't judge what anyone feeds their kids unless it was a dog shit sandwich!

Sorry I meant to say mustard 😂😂
Don't know how I wrote mayo

If you're getting a 4 year old to eat broccoli that seems like a win to me! Mine eats zero vegetables.

Woristag · 09/01/2024 18:19

Thank you everyone

Can i come to your house for lunch ?

craigth162 · 09/01/2024 18:25

Only in as much as why is a 4 year old eating a fruit pouch?

Yozzer87 · 09/01/2024 18:27

No of course not.

AliasGrape · 09/01/2024 18:27

Not in the slightest!

It’s one meal, includes some fruit and veg and presumably it’s something the child will enjoy and actually eat.

There was a time my DD ate green veg for fun, went mad for plain yoghurt and thought my roasted veg couscous was a treat. In those days I probably imagined I’d never resort to processed meat or ketchup, but then we hit about 2.5 and those scales have well and truly fallen from my eyes! I’d say sausages make up a good 40-60% of her diet these days.

Iwishiwasasilentnight · 09/01/2024 18:28

Sounds fairly normal but what is American cheese?

LIZS · 09/01/2024 18:28

As a one off, no. Every day, a bit lazy and over processed.

Plenty of 4 year olds and older do if they refuse to eat actual fruit! This way still gets a portion of fruit in and keeps them going with the flavour of fruit so hopefully will eventually eat the fruit itself

Ah I see plastic cheese. Yeah I would probably inwardly judge for that. But by kids eat other junk so it’s an unfair un judgement.

Dacadactyl · 09/01/2024 18:32

I would turn my nose up at the hotdog.

InTheRainOnATrain · 09/01/2024 18:36

Well you’re not from Chicago if you allowed ketchup on a hot dog.
That’s the only judgement I’d make though!

Westsussex · 09/01/2024 18:56

No, not now and again as a treat.

Hotdogs are 80% processed meat and can be carcinogenic if eaten regularly (which I doubt they would be). Most things can be eaten in moderation :) xx

It's great your little one eats brocoli!

ArchetypalBusyMum · 09/01/2024 18:56

Only if it was every day. 😁

Goldbar · 09/01/2024 18:57

Nope. I'd be envious that your kids eat hotdogs.

Mine won't eat burgers, hotdogs, sausages, chicken nuggets or most other protein sources, processed and unprocessed. They'll only eat one particular type of fries. Not chips. No sauces.

I mean, you'd think a burger and chips with ketchup would be a fairly safe bet for a kid's meal 🙄.

That wasn't the OP's question.

momager1 · 09/01/2024 19:03

lol! NO judgement here. I actually had my first hotdog in ages for my lunch. I am alone today as husband is out, so I took one of his hotdogs out of freezer (he loves hotdogs, me not so much, I buy in bulk and then divide into freezer bags of 4) I let it defrost for a bit,, did the whole slice the top bit, wrapped it in a large bit of bacon, air fried it, and then popped it in a nice fresh bun with some bbq sauce and diced onion. Topped with shred mozza and back in the airfryer bun and all for a couple minutes. OMG it was yum but in all honesty, that will do me for the next 3 or 4 months. Need to be REALLY in the mood for a hotdog otherwise gross no thanks.

BalletBob · 09/01/2024 19:13

I'm not really in the business of judging other people's parenting. I would be concerned about neglect/abuse etc and would report as appropriate, but definitely not my place to judge on normal parenting choices.

So no, I wouldn't judge or even think about someone feeding this to their 4yr old. I wouldn't give it to mine, but that's my choice and doesn't have to be someone else's.
