Can anyone give me advice about air travel?

Hi - hoping for insight from seasoned travellers!
We booked a villa in Italy for July, and planned to book the flights once all the Christmas expense was out of the way. When we looked in early December, there were several flight options from our chosen airport, with EasyJet and Jet2, at various different times.
We looked again last week, and there is just one flight (Jet2), at a horrible time of day. Nothing with EasyJet.
Should we just suck it up and book the flights, or might some more be added in the next couple of months?
I've called the airlines and customer services really don't know, and just tell me to keep checking. So I wondered if people with travel experience knew what the chances were of more flights being added in the next few weeks.
Many thanks

I don't know your dates, but Google flights is bringing up Tui, 9am flight.

Also flights via munich, geneva, frankfurt, paris and Zurich if you are prepared to change planes.

Edited

Sadly not on our date, but thank you anyway.

Lufthansa, Air France and KLM offer flights with stopovers (Munich, CDG and AMS respectively). Obviously it will take you longer to got there but less fuss getting to a different departure airport or very early morning flights.
Prices seem reasonable.

I think your DH needs to grow a pair and suck up the early flight time and get a cheap airport hotel. The longer you wait the more likely it is the flight price will go up by the same amount anyway!

If we’d waited for flights to be released first when booking next year’s holiday we would have lost the holiday house we wanted. We book house first and keep an eye out and book flights when they are available.
Are you able to go from another airport or just take the hit of the early one. They may move your flight time anyway.

I've been in a similar situation where initial choices vanished closer to my travel dates. Sometimes, airlines add more flights as the departure time approaches, especially for peak season destinations like Italy in July. It might be worth holding off a bit and checking regularly for updates.

In the meantime, if you're feeling unsure about waiting, have you considered exploring empty leg flights? They can be pretty effective for me in terms of flexibility and cost-effectiveness, especially when schedules are tight or options are limited. It could offer a more convenient travel experience, even if it's not the most conventional choice.

couldn't agree more!! We've had words about it.....

Just book those flights. If he can't be arsed getting up early for one day he misses out.
