How on earth can I get a ticket for Taylor Swift for my DD

Swifties · 05/01/2024 21:32

My DD is absolutely DESPERATE to go to a Taylor Swift concert. She’d signed up to the waiting lists with lots of email addresses from family members. Didn’t even get near obtaining a ticket.

Does anyone know of a place or way that it’s possible to get a ticket - she’s 20 so can go on her own, if it’s a pricey hospitality ticket she’ll have to go alone, we can’t afford two!

Ideas gratefully received- just hoping that closer to the time she can buy a resale somewhere.

You need to watch this TikTok and the lady in the video will help. She runs a discord server that you can join for free and you can get alerts every time there’s tickets for sale on ticketmaster or axs. She’s helped loads of swifties buy legitimate tickets from legitimate sellers.

Viagogo charge an arm and a leg and are a rip-off

Omg I think I have made the same mistake with the age limit and the standing tickets for wembley. I can’t believe it. Does anyone know a website that I can swap the tickets for seated. I don’t quite know how to to about it.

Avacardo2023 · 05/01/2024 22:34

Keep checking Ticketmaster, AXS and Twickets but you will need to check as many times a day as possible as they sell within minutes. I've seen more resale tickets on there in the last few days and I assume they are unwanted Christmas gifts or people who have split up. Also there will definitely be more for sale nearer the time, you've still got a few months yet.

Piffpaffpoff · 05/01/2024 22:46

Just check every day - I got 4 using my original email and password combo for Anfield a few weeks ago, much to my astonishment.

FishTheRiver · 05/01/2024 22:48

OP,
Just keep trying the official sites. As PPs have suggested more tickets will come up.

It's really foolish to buy tickets anywhere other than the official sites unless you personally know the seller. You would also be really foolish to think it's safe to swap tickets with someone else unless you know them personally. You can't do it safely.

naichick · 05/01/2024 22:50

do you need the original code to try and purchase resale tickets?

No.

I had a code for Edinburgh on Ticketmaster only and bought resale AXS tickets for Liverpool.

naichick · 05/01/2024 23:00

Ok that gives me some hope then, thank you.

If anyone here has seated tickets for the Wembley date that they want to swap for front standing then please DM me I have 4 standing tickets by my dd and her friend are 13.

I would much rather do a swap than have to buy and sell!

mrsconradfisher · 05/01/2024 23:09

I posted 2 days ago asking exactly the same thing. It’s me that’s desperate for tickets (for a very specific reason). I’ve tried Ticketmaster constantly plus AXS, Twickets and Stubhub. To whichever poster said there are loads for resale, I’d love to know where? The only ones I’ve found are on on Stubhub which are over £800 each for tickets right at the top of Wembley selling for £75 originally. Fully expect to pay way over original price but I cannot afford £1600 for 2 tickets.
I need 2 seated tickets for any date at Wembley. Can’t do anywhere else as I’m a TA and as lovely as my HeadTeacher is I don’t think she’ll let me have time off to go to see Taylor.

naichick · 05/01/2024 23:31

It seems that no one is selling them
on ticketmaster! I thought the whole thing was to reduce the amount of people reselling for £££ but I h
guess when they are bought through stubhub then people will just transfer them? I don’t understand how thats going to work!

How do you envisage 'swapping' would work in practice? Say someone contacted you as a result of you post how would you know they were genuine?
(For that matter how would they know you were genuine). Do you just send your tickets once you receive them shortly before the concert and hope they do the same?

I can see swapping with someone you know but not random people on the internet

naichick · 06/01/2024 05:51

I would have to get to know the person I wouldnt just swap it off of a reply.
its no different to people buying them on stubhub to be honest as those people are reliant on a stranger transferring the ticket.

This. I really wouldn't use mumsnet as a ticket exchange

Coffeespill · 06/01/2024 05:56

I think she'd have to be prepared to fly to another destination. That will increase her chances.

Viagogo are rip off merchants, I wouldn’t give them a penny.

doingmaheadin · 06/01/2024 07:13

I've just gone onto viagogo to purchase some in Cardiff and there's loads available. £600 each

ForeverWinter · 06/01/2024 09:13

Don't buy anything that isn't through AXS or Ticketmaster (Even Twickets).
It literally says on the front page of AEG;

Purchasing tickets via the official resale facilities also ensures that the ticket you are purchasing is genuine. As set out in the terms and conditions of sale, any tickets found to be purchased via resale on the non-official secondary market will not be valid for entry into the concerts and will be cancelled. Therefore, we strongly advise that you sell and purchase your tickets via the official ticket agents.

Transfer for tickets isn't open yet and won't open until much closer to the time so anything now from Vigago/StubHub/Facebook/Twickets is likely all a scam

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 06/01/2024 10:19

Don’t buy off resale sites. You won’t get the ticket. Check the ticket T&c on Ticket Master. The tickets are not transferable. If they think you have bought a transferred or resold ticket then you’ll be refused entry.

Each ticket holder must have their ticket on their phone to show at the door. There won’t be emailed or paper tickets to pass on. Tickets are via the TicketMaster or AXA app and accessed via the purchaser’s account.

Anything you buy on Facebook or Viagogo won’t work.

Edited

At least if you buy Stubhub tickets they take steps to retry and ensure the seller isn't a scammer and they offer 'fan protect' so you get your money back even if you don't get the tickets.

That's a lot more protection than swapping or buying from some random on the internet.

Swifties · 09/01/2024 11:45

Bumping this in the hope someone has a Cardiff ticket they have spare 🙏

Wait until much nearer the dates, loads will spring up in the week or two before.

Deargodletitgo · 09/01/2024 14:11

StubHub, but look in Europe rather than the UK, I'm taking my daughter to Germany to see her, was cheaper than the UK even with flights etc

Newnameformoneyadvice · 09/01/2024 14:23

I need 2 tickets Edinburgh or Liverpool seated hopefully they will come up in May
