I garlicked my cat

Today I thoughtlessly stroked my cat after I had been preparing garlic and the smell of garlic transferred to my cat.

I feel really bad about it. Also guilty.
Have you ever done this to your cat and if so how did you manage to forgive yourself?

I vomited on my cat and she survived (I did but it took longer).

I was very hangover and ran to the patio doors to vom outside, she ran in front on me and of course stopped to look outside getting in the way.

Fake tan ... Chucked it in the basket of crap and forgot about it until my eldest dd found it and collared her brother and rubbed in into his face thinking it was either suncream or a moisturiser I had to take ds to school and explain I was really sorry he looked like an ompma lumpa but his sister was to blame

Now I can't stop laughing and my colleague keeps raising his eyebrows!

Cats are so bizarre - I remember she was about to vomit on the kitchen floor and I ran quickly, picked her up and put her outside in the front garden so we didn't have to clean up inside.

Slight loss of dignity for the cat but it did save having to clean up kitchen floor

I have indeed both garlicked and onioned my cat on multiple occasions Blush She alternately glares and squints at me for a little while and then appears to forget rather than forgive, we're fairly sure she has the memory of a goldfish Smile

I heard a tip recently that washing your hands with cold water after chopping garlic or onions avoids 'cooking in' the smell so I've been doing that of late (works for chopping boards too, wash with cold water and a spot of washing up liquid, cold rinse) so hopefully Dcat won't have to endure the indignity again, although I'm sure she'll find something else to glare at me for.

Years ago my oldest (15 now) scent marked my head while I had blue hair dye on. He had a big patch of bright blue on his white fur for a few weeks.
