Declaring nuisance neighbours when moving house

Would you be concerned to move into a new home to find out that the previous family had issues with the family next door?
Issues like complaining about noise, arguments and passive aggressive tit-for-tat behaviour. (Neighbour to previous occupants)
If you hadn’t be told prior to moving in would you assume the neighbour is the issue and they didn’t want to lose the sale/tenancy by being honest with you? Or that it was a private issue between them and doesn’t automatically mean you too will have issues with the neighbour?
Im trying to think realistically and rationally before contacting anyone about this.
thank u

Legally and morally you should declare it. It’s absolutely not fair to inflict the same misery on the new buyers.

There wouldn't be a new buyer.

I really feel for you OP. I had horrible, disgusting neighbours (I hope karma gets them) who made my life hell. Had police and court involvement. I was lucky that I was able to move without selling my house as no one would buy my house if I declared what had happened! Interesting that previous posters said only boundary issues need to be declared, the estate agents said the same thing to me too (wasn't sure whether to believe them though). Perhaps ask for solicitor's advice so you know where you stand.

@startofbetterlife I had police and court involvement too.
But these problematic neighbours also tried to report my child to the police 3 times, us both 3 times. And reported us to environmental health twice. Each time no action taken and household noise.
Oh and also the malicious reports to 999 (8) and children's services (10). No action taken.
Yet we got enough evidence for them for police to take action on them.

There are really awful people in the world who will make malicious reports but they are just malicious.

@purpleme12, wow your neighbours make mine sound like angels! I have given up trying to understand these type of people. They seem to think police (and other organisations) will be on their side and do not see through their bs.

I wouldn't risk it. Not being able to fully enjoy your home is so stressful and would destroying.

I've been reported to the police and social services. No action taken. Anonymous malicious reports. I know who it is but feel it's best to totally ignore it. Can't wait to move. Some people are just horrible.
