  1. Turn Off Power:
  • Make sure you turn off the power to the affected light switch or the entire circuit to eliminate the risk of electrical fires.
  1. Ventilate the Area:
  • Open windows and doors to allow fresh air to circulate and help dissipate any lingering fumes.
  1. Evacuate if Necessary:
  • If the smell is strong or if you're feeling unwell, consider leaving the house and calling emergency services if needed.
  1. Do Not Ignore:
  • Don't ignore the smell, especially if it's associated with a burnt light bulb. Ignoring it could potentially lead to more serious issues.
  1. Seek Assistance:
  • If you can't reach the burnt bulb safely, consider asking a neighbor or a friend for help. Alternatively, you may want to wait for someone to come home to assist you.
  1. Contact a Professional:
  • Once the immediate safety concerns are addressed, it's advisable to contact a qualified electrician to inspect the wiring and address any potential issues.
