Hi everyone, keep meaning to come on here and say thanks so much for all the incredibly helpful messages, was overwhelming and some made me feel tearful - depression is such a battle isn't it.

Exercise, for sure. Avoiding alcohol. Getting a proper night's rest (which is much easier when I'm exercising and not drinking)

Exercise. Outside running and walking as much as possible. Carrying shopping and litter picking. Getting all the scraps of winter sunshine that you can.

Horse riding and counselling.

Horses are very therapeutic generally, there's something soothing about being around them. Plus one at the school where I learn is a proper escape artist, hilariously mischievous and utterly unrepentant. His antics are often posted on their Facebook page and it makes me smile to watch him.

My counsellor is a rock. No matter how many times I lash out at him he doesn't go anywhere. Its good to have someone on your side. Even if there is nothing he can actually do except be there.
