Daily Vitamin Recommendations

Hi All,

Does anyone take a daily multivitamin and have really noticed a difference in how you feel? Which ones do you take? I am making an effort to eat as healthily as possible but I'm constantly exhausted and run down and seem to pick up every bug so wondered if a good daily vitamin might help.

Thanks!

xx

I take Inessa multi and that has made a difference. I also take their omega 3 and probiotic. The biggest change though has been taking Anaxastathin (spelling?!), an antioxidant, in terms of immunity. I get the one from GP nutrition.

Thanks, I'll have a look for those!

Multivitamins are usually a poor choice since they provide too much of what you don't need and too little of what you do. You really need a blood test to know what you are lacking.

I do take a general multivitamin just as a catch-all really but truth be told don't notice much difference.

I take an extra vitamin D supplement as a blood test found I was deficient and I really noticed a difference when I started taking that. Especially to my aches and pains.

I take omega 3-6-9 for brain health and turmeric for some joint issues plus apple cider vinegar for digestion.

I take an iron supplement during the week I have my period and I feel that helps too.

I agree 100% with this. And also, some vitamins can actually be harmful if taken in excess or unnecessarily, aren't there warnings about vitamin A in women who might become pregnant?

I just re-read your post and notice you're constantly run down and tired. For sure, then, get a blood test. There's all kinds of possibilities such as low vitamin D, incorrect iron levels, B12 or folate deficiency that spring to mind.

I take vitamin B, vitamin D and iron. It has made a difference (far less tired now) . Thinking of adding omega 3 in new year

If you get a blood test, get a printed copy of the results. You often have to be quite low for it to be flagged up as a deficiency in NHS terms, whereas boosting of borderline, or even low end of ‘normal’ levels can be of benefit.

I saw there are now self-tests for sale in Tesco to test for Vitamin D levels and iron levels.
I take a few supplements and do feel a difference. I take magnesium and Vitamin D.
