Lighthearted...composing Mumsnet threads in my head

So, it's occurred to me that going through my daily life I often compose imaginary Mumsnet threads in my head.
You know those old "what would Jesus do?" Badges?
Well I seem to have a "what would Mumsnet do?" Loop stuck in my head.

This morning I have composed a deeply dull thread about whose turn it really is to host NYD with the family (spoiler alert, mine and I'm not so would never survive AIBU 😆)

A "how do I get my son to tidy up?" Thread and a totally imaginary thread about what my cat gets up to.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who makes up imaginary threads?

Or have I been here too long 😣🫣

I did it a few minutes ago. It’s called why did you buy an XL bully ?

I do this all the time! It's highly entertaining to me and I compose all sorts. I particularly like the one where I describe my ex's situation from his new gf's perspective and watch the pair of them get their arses handed to them. I don't have any real life friends to talk to, bar one, so mumsnet is my social life and solace.

Oh God, I do this too...I sometimes just seem to have a mumsnet narrative running through my brain...
The latest one has been about my sister. But it's probably best left in my head.

I do this too. I find it quite cathartic. Sometimes I compose replies to my imaginary post too - it allows me to see different viewpoints effectively.

Oh gosh I can imagine this!!
I hope your ex and his GF get hauled over the imaginary Mumsnet coals 😆

I do sometimes find myself channeling the "blunter" Mumsnetters and thinking "what the fuck did you do that for?"
In quite innocuous circumstances.

@Lovelydovey it should be cathartic as long as your imaginary mumsnetters are on your side!

I do it too! It makes me cringe even sharing this. It's a good way to process a situation, thinking about how you would phrase it to a stranger. My imaginary Aibu posters are always very understanding and wise
