Christmas cards - have you received any this year ?

I normally get a handful but the only one I've had this year was a hand-delivered card from our local councillors! They never disappoint. I wonder if this dearth of cards is because they are slowly going out of fashion or because of the poor Royal Mail service recently ? Maybe a bit of both ?

Got several, but all from customers, not personal.

Yes definitely agree with a PP, it's a dying tradition. Suspect it will disappear within the next 10 years.

Yes - but I sent a load as well . Some in the post , some hand delivered .

A few, but to be honest I didn't get round to sending any.

I like having cards up in my house as part of the decorations - but given the price of stamps I may reconsider posting to those I am in touch with other ways next Christmas.

I hand made and sent about 50 and received about the same

Goinoutalone · 31/12/2023 11:53

Sent 0 (as always) received 3

MadamVastra · 31/12/2023 12:02

I can't remember how many I got but not many - I sent a few to elderly rellies. We don't send cards anymore not even for birthdays. Teenagers just want bank transfers instead of cash nowadays anyway don't they? I know my kids always give me any cash they receive and I send them funds over by transfer

Coastalcreeksider · 31/12/2023 12:06

I also received two of those e-cards with twee cartoony Christmas scenes featuring animals and Christmassy music.

I don't like them myself so don't ever send those instead of cards.

EffortlessDelegation · 31/12/2023 12:07

40 or 50 and sent about the same. I though they might start dwindling in number bit no sign yet. We put them all on a wire holder and they look nice without taking up too much space.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 31/12/2023 12:09

Got about 20 this year, it goes down each year. I've not sent any for about 5 years.

faffadoodledo · 31/12/2023 12:10

Between us sent about 40. Received back more, but haven't counted. They're hanging up above the fireplaces On little string swags with pegs.
I'd miss them if they weren't there at Xmas, but confess I send fewer every year
