Laugh out loud Christmas moments!

Please share the funniest thing that’s happened this year.
Just arrived at friend’s house for the New Year. We only buy token gifts for each other. I presented her with a very nice (I thought) set of scented candles. She raised her eyebrows - then presented me with an identical set of scented candles! Both sets are sat on the table now and we just keep laughing whenever we look at them.

My family bought me an ancestry dna kit in early December and I started working on my family tree right away. Over Xmas I was telling my eldest daughter how some of the familial lines go right back to the 1500s. I found 14th great grandparents and was amazed. She stood there open mouthed and like "WOW! That's fantastic mum. My mind is blown. I wish I was related to somebody from that far back in time." .

Everybody just went quiet and looked at her waiting for the penny to drop. She looked right back and said "I've only got normal grandparents " like they just suddenly thought themselves into existence. She's recently had a baby when I pointed out that they were HER 15th great grandparents and her kids 16th great grandparents she was really embarrassed but absurdly delighted at the revelation 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

In the 70s I got in a strop one Christmas Day and announced I was LEAVING. (I would have been about 10 years old.) I packed my satchel and exited via the front door to further make my point. Still in a righteous strop I made my way across the snow-covered drive. Can't recall now where I thought I was going (possibly heading to my aunt's house nearby).

Anyway, I was nearing the end of the drive when I heard Dad calling out; asking me if I wanted to come back inside and put my shoes on. I looked down and saw I was still in my slippers.

@Smartstuffed Classic failed flounce! I might have done exactly the same thing at that age. I'm trying to think of Christmas funnies.

Both my son and my late fil have been out to smart restaurants and only realised once there that they were still wearing their slippers!

This is fantastic. I do things like this all the time 🤣

How are you finding the dna thing? I want to give it a go

Not this Christmas, but one when I was a teenager, which gave massive laughs to everyone else, and eventually me. That year, I had demanded asked for money for my big present, rather than something I didn't really want. Knowing that I loved riddles and mental games, my parents found an ingenious way to present it to me. After the other presents had been unwrapped, I was blindfolded, told that my loot was hidden in the room (with the solution revealed to everyone else), and it was up to me to work out where, as they were sure I knew all the hidey holes in the room. I had to ask questions (with yes/no answers) about where it was; and I got loads of "no" answers to just about every place I could think of. I was encouraged to move about, and to ask questions such as "is it behind me?". After what felt like an eternity, and much hilarity for everyone else, I discovered that it was always in front of me no matter where I faced: hidden inside my blindfold! I was briefly furious and felt utterly humiliated while everyone else fell about laughing, but when I realised what a clever idea it was, I joined in the mirth.
