Giving up alcohol and vape at the same time... doable?

I want to quit the vapes, and I want to reduce my alcohol consumption as wine has crept up to a daily habit. Grim though it seems, Dry January seems to be a good place to start, and I would REALLY like to be nicotine free by the end of January.
I am not great with willpower..I have quit before and lasted anything between days and several years |(so I know it's doable)
Can anyone give me tips on how to crack both at once, without being a) miserable b) comfort eating myself stupid (as menopausal and staying slim is much more of an effort|)

I need to replace the hand to mouth habit. I do crochet but just finished a massive project so don't feel like starting another yet! I know I'll get twitchy late in the evening when I'd usually use both to relax!

I also have struggled to give up vaping - I actually went to a stop vaping hypnotherapy session last week as was fed up. I stopped for 2 days then relapsed then stopped for another 2 days and relapsed again. I’m now trying to work on reducing the vaping - I think the key is being busy - I also noticed that the 2 days where I did not vape I actually felt fine.

So I’m at a loss as to why I restarted. I think it’s having too much time on my hands this holiday. Which should hopefully rectify itself by the time I go back to work. In the meantime I’m listening to podcasts in bed more, going for a massage today and going for walks. I’ve noticed bizarrely that if I’m in bed just reading etc I don’t vape whereas I would vape on the sofa. I’ve now decided to try and reduce my vaping down as going cold Turkey has not worked for me. Hopefully that will mean I reduce the significance of needing a vape. I also find if I spend time out of my home I don’t vape so I’m trying to ensure I do more things out than in at the moment.

Rather than give up completely is there a way you could monitor how often you do it and reduce it down? I’ve decided to feel a sense of accomplishment if I managed to go several hours without vaping rather than beating myself up about failing as I don’t think that would work.

I’m struggling with the vaping at the moment. I wouldn’t be able to give up two things at once personally, but give it a go, you might be able to and if not just focus on them one at a time.

This probably sounds counter productive, but when giving up something I don’t set myself a time limit or an end date. I just do the best I can day by day. Also it’s really important to remember that if you slip up, don’t beat yourself up about it. Focus on what you’ve achieved so far, not the one moment of weakness. You’re only human. Good luck!

DH has quit smoking and drinking together, says as he will have cravings might as well be for 2 things.

He's 6 weeks in and it's working out for him so far.

If this is meant to be a long term change, I’d do one at a time. Do Dry January and aim to quit vaping when you feel ready to tackle it. Both are a big change and Dry January offers a lot of support around quitting drinking so I’d prioritise that while the support is there.

Me too OP, but I'm changing down slowly.
Firstly I've swapped to a nicorette mouth spray thing, which has worked for the last two evenings.
The booze will follow in January I hope.
