Does my section incision look like it's healing okay? (Pic)

I'm 4 weeks post section and not sure if my scar is healing okay, it still seems quite red and has a scab at the side still? I was looking online at pictures of healing scars and most at the 4-5 week mark seemed to have lost colour, so now I'm worried.

@oneflewoverthe Ok thanks. Just concerned with the colouring of it but glad it looks normal at least. I hope it just heals up and falls off soon so I can stop panicking

From this last pic and your description, looks like a tiny bit of local infection, but get it checked; local walk-in centre sgould havexa tissue viability nurse. Or ask to see the practice nurse

@quisensoucie it's been a bit more red and sore today, and still green! so tried to phone for advice but my GP surgery was closed so will need to try again tomorrow and see if the nurse can see me. We don't really have a walk in clinic around here and 111 felt a bit dramatic in case it's totally fine.

@Oblomov23 20 years of itching! Wow! I wonder what mine will be like...

@sectionscar

This happened to me but mine was bigger and a bit more open. She cleaned it and put an iodine plaster on it and gave some away with me. It's healed fine.

I’ve still got an itchy one and numb in places 20 years later, seem to remember I had an area that had a stitch left in it and I just picked it out 😬

Saw the GP today, she said the scab isn't a scab but is a stitch hanging out so to wait and see if it falls off itself or I'll need to get it cut off. She said it doesn't look to be infected on the wound but has given me a gel and antibiotic cream just in case it's the start of something.

I'm getting a lot of pain internally though, especially now after her examining me earlier and feeling my stomach which she was quite concerned about so I've to go back to staggering painkillers and waiting for blood results.

Not sure if that means it could be infected inside or if something else is wrong but she didn't seem happy about the pain level so not sure what that means

A scar that itches for twenty years is probably a hypertrophic scar.
