Nothing to look forward to but also no money!

I have nothing planned or booked. Ideally I'd book a holiday but I've no money.
I feel a bit depressed with the new year coming and a blank diary.
What cheap or small things do you plan to cheer you up?

I got a bike through the cycle to work scheme (I lived to far to cycle but there was no way I could buy a bike but coming out my monthly pay was easier to budget), its been a god send. When I get bored and it's not raining I go out for a bike ride.

Could you invite friends over for dinner or afternoon tea. You each contribute something, it's cheap.

You need a project to get stuck into. Like walking every path within a 2/5/10 mk mile radius of your home, if you like walking. Or learning to knit so you can knit a scarf with some beautiful wool, if you like the idea of making something. Or planning to and then growing your own veg, if you're into food. I have an allotment and this is exactly the right time of year to start thinking about a planting plan and looking forward to spring.

@littlegrebe I do have a huge garden and did grow some vegetables during lock down. Could be something I could get back into.

Do you have a parkrun nearby? That’s good for volunteering without it having to be a regular commitment, it’s free and you can run or walk and the kids could take part too.
