Can anyone recomend one in the sales? I have no idea what I'm looking for in one of these. Grateful for any suggestions.

Oh how frustrating! Hopefully it arrives quickly.

I went for the Ecovacs N8+. Super happy so far 🤩.

The plug arrived today so we've had the maiden voyage of the living room. It picked up well even though it was on a low setting. It needed a bit of baby sitting as was getting stuck under the settee. Might be something we put on to use in the background when we're around.

Not the main point, but the kids loved it and I felt like I was in an episode of Tomorrow's World. 😁

@SugarPlumpFairy3 do you use the mop function? How is it?

@Monkeybutt1 I want to use it for a space like you have described. can I program it to go around a run? We have a large shag rug and it will certainly get caught up on that.

Would love one especially if it mopped as well as hoovered, as we have a lot of hard flooring downstairs. We have a big hairy dog, DH who makes a lot of mess and even worse when the DC are both back from Uni. Which one would work best for us and how often do you have to empty them?

Wondering how they manage to negotiate something in the way like a coffee table, chairs etc.

@SoTiredNeedHoliday its great for keeping on top of things but I’ll probably give it a proper mop every couple of weeks.

@ToothFairy2023 i have the Ecovacs N8+ and it empties the dustbin automatically when it returns to the charging station! There’s a disposable bag within the base that would need changing once full, but I haven’t had to empty it yet 😅.

With the model 8 have, the first time you operate it, it creates a map of your floor. It uses some kind of scanner to avoid most large pieces of furniture but would just gently bump into it if not and then change direction.

Im finding the Ecovacs FAR superior to my Eufy.

Thanks thats good to know just thinking where I could put a charging station as I don’t want it to be in full view and if I keep it in the cupboard under the stairs with the dog food mop bucket or ironing food it might not be able to get out lol 😜

Also the cupboard under the stairs leads off our hall way in two directions that i would like done.

SugarPlumpFairy3 · 21/01/2024 21:26

@ToothFairy2023 i keep mine in a walk in cupboard in the kitchen. I just leave the door open when using it.

Goddessonahighway · 21/01/2024 22:03

Had more time to play around with the Roomba. I think i'll use it mostly on the hard floor doorstairs with the combined mop function. Seemed to do well on that and dried quickly.

My Roomba and Braava live under a sideboard. They seem happy enough with only a little headroom, and they have a little less clearance around the sides than the instructions say they need.

I have a Roomba & absolutely love her although she is really quite old

If our Ecovac detects something unexpected in the way it gently nudges towards it then just goes around it. It did it to my foot the other day 🤣
The mop function is excellent too
