Wishbone disaster

While stripping chicken carcass for stock for soup, I’ve accidentally snapped the wishbone. Feel like I’ve killed a dream, or even a fairy. Please reassure me.

Ffs...absolute rubbish OP. Don't give it another thought.

Feliciacat · 26/12/2023 18:00

Since you snapped it then I guess you technically got the big piece. Why don’t you make a wish and then the lost wishbone won’t be in vain (since that’s how it sounds like you feel).

megletthesecond · 26/12/2023 18:00

Just say your wish.

IwishIdidntlikesugar · 26/12/2023 18:18

You’ve ruined it for yourself.

SmugglersHaunt · 26/12/2023 18:34

Glue it back together!

SisterMichaelsHabit · 26/12/2023 18:36

This is not a proportionate response for an adult to have over a chicken.

sprigatito · 26/12/2023 18:37

It's fine, calm down. All you need to do is find a local oak tree, strip all your clothes off and run widdershins around it three times, banging a saucepan.

IwishIdidntlikesugar · 26/12/2023 18:38

I’d say its a normal response to such an incident.

Watchkeys · 26/12/2023 18:39

Thinking of it from the chicken's viewpoint may help you to gain perspective.

GoodOldEmmaNess · 26/12/2023 18:44

Just wish that it wasn't broken. If it mends, you are back to where you started; if it doesn't, there is no point in being back there.

This is brilliant.

Best thread I’ve ever read 🤣🤣🤣

Brawsome · 28/12/2023 15:08

The perfect solution, GoodOldEmmaNess. That is exactly what I have done. Without giving anything away, I think everything will be ok. 👌

Always take them out before I roast the chicken, makes it easier to carve!
