Eyelash extensions - fallen in love 😭 worth the expense?

I got eyelash extensions for my holiday which I am on - and omg I love them. I hardly need any make up and my eye bags don’t look prominent.

In pics, I look like I have eyeliner on too (which I don’t and hate doing).

I wish they weren’t so expensive and had to re-do them every 3 weeks.

Anyone else have them and think it’s worth the expense?

I agree that they look really nice and save you time on doing your makeup. But despite what they say, I think they definitely damage my natural lashes. I get them removed after about 4 weeks and my natural lashes always look very sparse and feel weak after that.

LoreleiG · 26/12/2023 13:43

I have never had them but I do get mine tinted every month. I’d prioritise getting my lashes done (financially) over nails any day.

I love mine and you're right they are addictive. I get infills every 3 weeks, to me its worth the expense. For those saying it ruined their normal lashes somethings not right. They shouldn't, yes you will get shedding, both lashes naturally falling out, but unless you are picking at them there shouldn't be any issues with your natural lashes.

I got mine done for the first time recently for £30 and loved them, they were very natural. They are falling off now though and it looks a bit silly as I have gaps.
I'm hoping that my natural lashes are ok. I think I'm going to miss them as I loved them.
I think I'll get them done for special occasions and holidays, but give my lashes a break in between.

Any recommendations on how to make natural lashes grow?!

Dinnaehinksae · 26/12/2023 14:05

Op, I would recommend looking at lash ribbons. They are at home lash extensions and reusable. I've never had actual lash extensions but use these religiously. I've actually recommended them a few times on here cause I think it's something more people should know about. They're not expensive, and you can get a few wears out of each set. There's a lot of choice in terms of style so you can get what suits you best.

I LOVE them! I'm fair haired and it's so nice to not have to slather on the mascara!

A word of warning, I wore them for years and then inexplicably became allergic to the glue. My own eyelashes were never damaged, a good lash technician should take care of that.

Enjoy them and long may you continue to wear them :)

MammaTo · 26/12/2023 14:35

100% worth the money - they change your entire face for the better, I had them for years but then started to develop an allergic reaction from the glue fumes and had to stop.
But if you can afford them, get them definitely.

Same happened to me too! Randomly became allergic to the glue and had really swollen/puffy eyes - I was devastated I had to stop them 😂.

A couple of people in work have them and they look absolutely ridiculous, but I'm thinking they don't have the nature ones, as they look like drag queens. Rather than enhancing what they already have, they dominate their face.

I had this. Lash tech changed to clear glue rather than black and it was fine after that

See this is what worries me as it's absolutely not what I want. My lashes are still quite sparse a couple of years post chemo so I would just love them to look like a better version of what I used to have!

Mumaway · 26/12/2023 15:31

I had them, but they start to look a bit rubbish as they fall out, and longer term use really damaged my eyelashes due to the traction.
Maybe just buy some individual stick ones for special occasions?

Chocbuttonsandredwine · 26/12/2023 15:31

I have mixed natural and people always ask if they are my own or fake as it’s so difficult to tell

I love love eyelash extensions but can't have them as very allergic. Been looking for something to replace for a while and was using magnetic eyelashes which were great but not quite the same effect. Recently discovered diy eyelashes which are just like proper extensions, last a week or so and can do them myself. About £10 on Amazon. They come in clusters, make sure you get ones with a bond and seal. Honesty they're perfect

KinderEggg · 26/12/2023 17:00

My eyes. Just concealer. No eyeliner or nothing.

Mine fell out in four days taking my eyelashes with them. I’ve been using UK lash and my lashes are now naturally super long.

InAMess2023 · 26/12/2023 20:53

Absolutely adore mine! I usually get them filled in at a cost of £20 every ten days or so... a new set maybe every 3 months which is £45. I honestly look like a naked mole rat without them now!
