I had a lovely Christmas Day. Anyone else?

Slight glitch on timing led to dinner at 5.30 (an hour later than planned) but we managed to move The rate limiting taxi to 6.30. Otherwise a completely stress free day.
Thoughtful gifts. No arguments. Little walk mid afternoon. Some games. 4 generations. It was busy but those that needed some space took it and no one complained or forced compliance.
19 fed (17 here and two drop off dinners) and we have enough leftovers for a couple of days. 9 for brunch tomorrow.
No stress: it's ready when it's ready. Everyone on good form. Lots of laughs.
I am shattered but it's a happy kind of tired. Who else has had a really good Christmas Day? Care to share?

It was a good day. I was less stressed than usual!

Guests didn't come round until 3.00pm. Grandson had a nap after opening a few presents, so when we opened the rest it was nice and relaxed and I had some time to look at his presents with him. My children (young adults and teens) were happy with what they got.

Dinner went well. I was a bit tipsy by that point, so instead of being stressed like I normally would, I was pretty relaxed. We argued a bit when playing games, but it was good natured. It was loud and chaotic, but no proper arguments and I didn't cry once :)

Yes it was so lovely! Very chilled out and relaxed. This was the first year that my 2 year old understood that it was Christmas and that Santa had come. He was really excited to see the presents on Christmas morning and the toys I choose for him were a huge success, he loved and played with them all day! My parents came to ours for dinner and my husband did all the cooking and cleaning with no stress or complaints.

I ended up having reheated dinner half an hour later than everyone else because my baby woke up looking for a feed just as we were sitting down to eat but that's the joys of having a newborn. We went out for a walk into the city that evening to see the lights and the weather was perfect. Really felt blessed with my little family and so excited for future Christmases as they both get older and understand everything better!

Yes we had a lovely day too. I've posted about my grumpy DH and a row we had back on 16th December about out 2 daughters not visiting for Christmas so wont' revisit all that but on the day itself some friends came around in the morning for a drink and then had DS, DiL and granddaughter who is only 7 weeks old so first Christmas, also youngest who still lives at home so only 5 plus baby, no issues. Everyone liked their presents DH in a good mood and no arguments ( a baby does wonders!). Facetimed our 2 daughters who couldn't be there. Meal went really well - only complaint from DH was that I cook too much! On Boxing Day we went for a meal with my brother and sister and their families so was able to dress up which I like (plus no cooking!). Stuck on m25 going but that's to be expected - had a lovely time over the two days. NYE our youngest is 23 and always have a party at our house (all the family will be together and staying) so now preparing for that!
