I am thinking this should be an annual sweep stake for late afternoon, early evening on Christmas Day.

OP posts:

Dh would get very short odds on that because, well, it’s always him 🤣👌🏼

My mum went home at 4.30 due to sleepiness. Kids are chilling. I wouldn't sleep in the day unless I was given a general anaesthetic.

Same. Unless I’m ill, pregnant or staggeringly hungover.

decionsdecisions62 · 25/12/2023 18:36

This thread is a laugh. It's either 'yes a number of times' or 'no I'm a fitness freak, I don't sleep, I did 50 laps around the park'. It's ok you can relax!

Celebrationsnakes · 25/12/2023 18:55

Nobody in this house.

SlidingInto2024 · 25/12/2023 18:56

Me at about 10:30am due to being up the last two nights with DS (night terrors). Usually I last a bit longer and snooze for an hour in the afternoon while the kids play/build/eat and DH does dinner. I think I'll be in bed by 9pm!

CrackersCheeseAndWinePlease · 25/12/2023 17:58

DH, it's always DH

This.
He was closely followed by both Dcats, but to be fair to the cats, they've had a very busy day standing guard next to the oven in case a thief happened to break in to steal their the turkey.

MuggleMe · 25/12/2023 18:59

DH went back to snoring at 8.30 after the main presents opening and breakfast excitement was done. It's actually miraculous I haven't napped yet, I'm blaming too short a movie.

Simonjt · 25/12/2023 19:07

My husband is asleep on the floor, hea clutching some duplo in his right hand, an actual giant toddler.

Gingerlygreen · 25/12/2023 19:09

I've just woken up from a sleep, I was awake until 2am waiting for the youngest to fall asleep properly before I could hang her stocking then up at 7 with them and didn't sit down properly until 5.30pm.

I was shattered and fell much better now and ready to do the usual Christmas night games.

SunshineIndoors123 · 25/12/2023 19:11

The toddler. After being up for 2 hours in the night last night. Closely followed by DH, for reasons unknown really as it was my turn to be up with the insomniac toddler last night, not his. In fact, I'm the only one who hasn't had a nap. DH is now settling said toddler down for the night, so I'll probably be in bed myself shortly.

Thinkbiglittleone · 25/12/2023 19:13

Today was me, I dozed for a bit, then after DH cooked tea he had a snooze

jamsandwich1 · 25/12/2023 19:14

my DH is currently on his third nap of the day. feeling pretty annoyed as I’ve not managed any due to having 2 young children. Last time I checked they were his too.

Tilllly · 25/12/2023 19:15

Me but I'm playing the poorly card

PollyPaintsFlowers · 25/12/2023 19:17

My eldest daughter, but she's been working so hard and did a twelve hour shift yesterday.

Then I did

Now we're just lazing before she makes dinner (that she volunteered to do)

AuntPru · 25/12/2023 19:17

Me, after being up/ lying on an old cot mattress half the night because the 5yo couldn't sleep🤦🏼‍♀️ Slept from 9am until 11am. Said 5yo has just fallen asleep, waiting for the toddler to call it a day too (he's angry with me for taking one of his presents out of his cot, so I think he's taking revenge by not going to sleep😂)

mrsbyers · 25/12/2023 19:18

Henry

SaucepanRattle · 25/12/2023 19:19

DH collected MIL and arrived back at 12.30. MIL fell asleep at 12.45 with dinner planned to be on the table for 1.15pm.

Then after dinner fell asleep at 4pm till DH left with her at 5pm. So spent much of her visit asleep. Even when the DC were fighting so that's a blessing.

Umph · 25/12/2023 19:19

DH at about 4pm but in fairness the cockerel started crowing at 4am, which then woke the cat up who then came and loudly purred on our pillows, and the the kids were up at 5.45… so we’re both shattered!

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 25/12/2023 19:19

I did earlier after the dinner but did have a late night. just a little snooze on the sofa but half asleep half awake while my adult son was watching some sports quiz. Not used to eating so much in the day but dinner was lovely. Could not eat pudding yet will later. Dog is snoring in her bed now.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 25/12/2023 19:20

Only the 1yr old so far here. Even though DP was on shift all night and cooked the Christmas dinner he's surprisingly still awake.

I can guarantee he'll nod off not long after the kids go to bed and we've eaten the large trifle I've just made.

3yr old is still wide awake with no signs of tiredness 😕

Decafflatteplease · 25/12/2023 19:21

I had a nap 2.30-3 twas glorious!

TragicMuse · 25/12/2023 19:40

My mum has just zonked!!

bunniesandguineapigs · 25/12/2023 19:42

DH is on his third nap of the day! He's had a really stressful few months at work with not much time off so it's nice to see him relaxing for a change.

Hilarious 😂 I can just picture the scene!

eatdrinkandbemerry · 25/12/2023 19:53

My kids are asleep but one has just started with the throwing up bug 😩.
She hasn't eaten all day because she said she had a tummy ache .
