Goal setting for 2024

Just wondering what method people use for goal setting and tracking? 2024 is going to be the year I turn my life around, I'm determined, but I need some way of setting myself goals and tracking them. I'm very disorganised and lack motivation generally. Any recommendations would be great, I've looked at apps and physical journals/diaries but I just don't know what to use that will work best

I just have mine on a draft e-mail - mine is exercise 3 to 5 hours per week to reduce risk of cancer coming back at stage 4 by 50% and I have a total I change each time I exercise and a week count. It works for me as regularly go into e-mails so I see it.

That had definitely never occurred to me so thank you! I'm in my work emails practically every day. Sorry to hear about your cancer, definitely good motivation to stick to it. Hope 2024 is a good year for you

I use trello and the 12 week year method

I use a bullet journal where I track habits, set goals, etc.
This year I had a word of the year. It really worked for me. My word was nourish. Nourish my body, health, relationships and so on. When thinking about what I wanted to do or if I was in a quandary I would ask myself if it was nourishing me.

this year my word is diligence. I’m determined to hit some goals at home, work and for my health.

I don’t normally do this but I might just list a few here - my word can be GET

get divorced
get laid
get through a marathon
get kids to study
get promoted

I find the bullet journal method works well for me because you’re basically just doing one day at a time which feels more manageable to me than anything else. I also have apps that I use for things that I find it harder to do - mainly the Fitbit app for tracking how much water I drink and how much exercise I’m getting and the FlyLady app for cleaning/housework.

Thanks all, some great ideas. Am going to look up Trello and the 12 week year as never heard of them!
